hi, just wondering if anyone out there might know if DCL will supply a cot for a cat5 room on deck 7??? I have 2 rooms booked ,but am traveling with 4 teenagers who I know will want to room together. After searching the boards, it seems that these rooms have a queen size bed, and a single pull out. Hate to spend all this money and have to have someone camp on the floor.

Four teenagers in a Category 5 can request to have the queen bed seperated into two twin beds. The third teen will sleep in the convertible sofa berth (single bed). The fourth teen will sleep in the pull-down berth.

No, DCL does not supply cots. Officially, you must have one adult in each room. That said, no one will say anything if you put the kids together. You'd have to look at whether your assigned cabins sleep 3 or 4.

The big bed separates into 2 twin beds. The couch becomes a twin bed. In a cabing for 4 people, the bunk bed drops out of the ceiling (your room steward does this for you). THe cabins for 3 do not have the bunk in the ceiling.

You can look in a deck chart to determine whether your cabins will hold 3 or 4.......

thanks, being that we're a party of 6, they gave me 2 staterooms each sleeping 3. Officially, I realize a adult is supposed to be in each room, being these kids are 16/17, I'm expecting that they'll all want to hang together during the night.. Their all cousins, so I'm not worried....lol..
What about a blow up mattress, do you think I could fit it in these rooms somehow??? If not, it's gonna be a lottery each night to see who's bunking with mom/dad or aunt/uncle...
thanks for any suggestions!!!

No, there really wouldn't be room for a blow up mattress. I think you're saying that you have 2 adults and 4 teens, with 2 staterooms that don't have a pull down bunk. Given that, you're probably going to have to put one teen in your room.

Before you get too concerned, you might post your stateroom number so we can see if anyone's been in that room and can confirm that it doesn't have a pull down.

Actually, I think that if you move the table that sits in front of the sofa, you could put an air matress on the floor. You might have to move it into the other cabin (and it isn't light!), but that might be better than moving a person into your cabin. There isn't a lot of floor space...however, the cabins are much larger than most other cruise lines.

Your room steward MIGHT be able to make the table disappear for the duration of your cruise if you asked. NEver made such a request, so I don't know.

If you do have 2 cabins that only sleep 3 instead of 4 why not just contact DCL and ask to have your stateroom changed to at least one that will sleep 4--then your problem is solved!

I was thinking of having one room switched, I wish it was that easy, but I have to have the rooms next to eachother, I'm not planning on giving them that much freedom..and they don't have a those rooms available near eachother... But I will take the advice of trying to lose the table....thanks all..

Most CAT 5's do sleep 4. If you post your stateroom #s, I'm sure someone here can tell you if it does, or does not sleep 4.

We are a family of 3 & we have always received a CAT 5 room that sleeps 4. My DD uses the bunk above to sleep in & loves it. Don't assume just because you booked two cabins of 3 each, that you won't receive a cabin that sleeps 4. Then your problem is solved!

When I got sick on my last cruise with DCL, Disney supplied my wife with a roll away bed so she wouldn't catch my germs.

No mention was made of pulling apart the queen into twins; they just brought up the roll away.
