Hi, just wondering how DCL keeps everything in order once on board. Since I come from a family of police officers and am married to one, was wondering how any "situations" might be handled.
Have never seen any talk of this on any of the boards, and since my son asked me if there are any police officers onboard, thought I would ask since I have no idea!

Thanks,
CHris...

PS...just made my final payment....OH Yeah!!

I am sure they have security, although I have never seen them on my 3 cruises. I have also never come across an incident where they would be needed....

Hey...I am also married to a police office and are very aware of security whereever we are. Rest assured DCL most certainly has a security force. They are there in a pinch when needed but very unassuming the rest of the time.

We once had a drunk staying in the cabin across the hall from us. He was verbally abusing his lady friend and we knew a little child was styaing in the room with them. One afternoon when my DD16 was alone in our cabin she heard all this yelling. All of a sudden the woman came pounding on our door screaming for help. My then DD16 pulled the woman and child into our cabin and shut the door. My DD immediately called security from our room and explained the situation all the while trying to calm down the woman and 2 year old...who were crying hysterically. DCL had security...4 men showed up....there within minutes. They questioned the woman and then made the man open up his cabin and assess his condition...drunk off his behind and then he becase abusive to security. Well, security hauled him away and we heard later that he was brought to Medical to sober up and then placed under "house" arrest in a different cabin until the cruise was over. The woman and child were allowed to stay in their original cabin.

The great thing is DCL security is not noticeable or in your face until you need them.

There was also an incident where a teen jumped from Deck 4 into the harbor while we were docked in St. Thomas. He also was put into "house" arrest and could only leave the cabin when accompanied by his parents. He was not allowed in the teen club after that either. The Captain was very upset because the ships propellers were on as they were doing some testing of the ship and the teen could have been easily killed. He got caught when he tried to get back onboard and showed his KTTW card and it showed him as being onboard already.....also his dripping wet clothes were kind of a give away as well.

There is on gentleman that I see on every cruise. He is always walking around up on deck and all about the ship...I know he is secruity because he has an earpiece in his ear and he is always assesing how things are going with a very serious face. He is the only one that stands out in my mind. He is very visible.

thanks for the update, I figured there had to be some sort of security onboard just never heard any talk of it....not that I'm to worried about any mishaps...LOL...and with everyone spending this much money, who would want to mess up:cool:

I often wonder if any of the workers in coveralls are possibly security. They blend in well.
