If I was on the dining plan and we were staying 7 nights would I have 7 snacks, 7 quick service and 7 full service meals?

You go by the number of nights, so yes I believe your credits are good until midnight the day of check out. So I have been told.

That is exactly what you'd have, and you could use them in any combination over the length of your stay. They would expire at midnight of your checkout day, so they should all be used before that.

It depends when you check out we were told. We were going to check out on a Friday Morning and go to the parks for our last day then head home that night. We were told check out is before noon and when we checked out our meals would end. They said we could do a breakfast, come back and check out but anything later would be on our own. Needless to say after going round and round with our choices we called back, told the same thing and booked Friday night. Would be cheaper then our meals with our codes.

According to all reports, this information is inaccurate. If your checkout date is Friday, your credits should expire at midnight Friday, not at the 11 AM checkout time on Friday. Did you request to speak to a manager?

I'd suggest that anyone who is told this at their resort ask to speak to a manager.

We were passed to someone who clarified and confirmed. She broke it down to the detail of once you check out that is it and she is the one who told us about the breakfast before check out. Because afterwards it had something to do with the keys to the world or what ever being tied to your room. They were very blunt to say it was not per date of stay it was per time paid in your room.

What resort and year was this? Because I think at this time it's still incorrect. You are supposed to be able to take your keys with you when you check out and use your unused dining credits until midnight. A LOT of posters talk about doing this. You are the first I have seen to say you were prohibited from using Disney dining credits past checkout time.

All I can think of is that maybe your stay was at the beginning of the dining plan and they hadn't expanded the use of the credits to midnight.

If I were you and this stay was recent, I think I would send this information to WDW and tell them you had to stay an extra night because of this.

I admit it was highly confusing LOL... Here is the origional thread before we decided to just add Friday after calling back after the thread....

We are now staying the week before as it was changed since that thread I made. But we moved to Movies and that is when we were told again. That thread above does agree with the CMs end choice of what I had to book for us but when I re-read it some on here stated you could use Leftover Credits but they did end at Check out. Disney is magically confusing at times lol

They shouldn't be confusing at all. Dining credits do not expire until midnight of your checkout day. However, if you have already used all the credits you are allotted for your stay, then you will have to buy meals. What that thread appears to indicate is that you will have used all your credits by Thursday. In that case, you would need to buy meals for Friday.

According to this thread, you have not been on your trip yet (it's not until December) and someone on the phone told you that the credits would expire at 11 AM on your checkout day. Whoever told you that is incorrect.

I dont know then. Some ppl here say they dont and CMs say they do. Sadly, were only as good as the information were given and it was a mess. Yes, it should not be confusing but it is when there is different info all over the place. I know I searched high and low for it in writing on the disney site and could not find a clear description of it.

So if the CMs are wrong but wont admit it then is there anything I can do? We go the week after turkey day. I would hate to think the Cms I spoke to lied or were all completely misinformed. :confused3

I like your answer better but it was not that way for our family

If you are staying 5 nights on the basic dining plan you will have 5 TS, 5 CS and 5 snacks per person IN TOTAL to use in any combination over your entire stay. If you use them all before you check out, that's it. If you have any left over on the day you check out, you can use them up to midnight of that day. But you have to have them left over to use them.

One cast member apparently gave you the information that the credits would expire at the time you check out, i.e. 11 AM on your checkout day. They were either incorrect or misunderstood.

I don't know what it is you want to do. You haven't even gone on your trip yet. All I can tell you is to be aware that you should be able to use dining credits up to midnight of your checkout date, if you have any left over on that day to use.

We ended up booking Friday night so we had meals for Friday since it is based on nights booked. Some on that link I put above did say that you could use left overs. We would not have left overs and if you do not have leftovers come checkout but go to the parks the rest of the day you had to pay for your meals.

We are just leaving early Sat morning now. There is nothing you can do based on the info we were given. If you dont pay that night they dont give you meals we were told. For some leftovers might be the way to go, for us we would eat LOL.

Well, that's only because you would not have had any leftover credits to use on Friday. But if you'd had leftovers, you could have used them up to midnight.

If you did not have leftover credits, you could not have used your key card, linked to a credit card, to pay for the meals. THAT option would expire when you checked out. But if you had dining credits left over, you could have used them.

There again this could mean two different things which is what were discussing. Does that refer to left overs you did not use before you checked out or equal meals per time in the park? Most side on the left overs being used which pretty much goes with all the convos with Cms saying we would not have meal credits after check out because it is based on night paid. I hear CMs are on the site, I dont know if it is rumor but if I have been told wrong (like other ppl here) and I have non left over meal credits then I would like for them to message me on how to contact them and fix it because I called back again after this thread and once again was told only if it was left over.

I think at some point you were not comprehending that you get dining credits per night of your stay.

You get credits, based on the number of nights you stay in your resort, for a certain number of meals. Those are all the credits you get. You do not get meal credits based on how many days you spend in the parks. If you stay 5 nights on the basic dining plan you get 5 of each type of credit and that is all you get. You can't get extra credits if you use all of those up, but you still have another day left in the parks. It's up to you to then decide which meals you are going to pay for with the credits. If you use all the credits before you check out, you have to start paying cash for any meals you still want to get at WDW. There isn't anything you can do to fix that. If you use all your credits, you can't get any more credits. That's standard procedure for the dining plan.

If you DON'T use them all up before you check out of your resort, then you can use them until midnight of the day you check out. They do not expire at the regular resort checkout time.

Your original post on this thread appeared to advise posters that you were told you cannot use dining credits at all after the 11 AM resort checkout time. That is not the case.

It is very easy upon booking a vacation with dining in thinking your paying for the plan and the parks and in the park and wonder if meals are included the entire time.

But I use 'left over' in all the previous posts referring to only credits not used. I think were both talking the same thing, just different wording.

WDW dining entitlements have never been based on how many days you spend in the parks, or on the length of your park tickets. They are always based on how many nights you spend at the resort.
