I am not a member of CAA as I had roadside assistance on my vehicle until last week. I am wondering if CAA has decent discounts for rooms/packages at Disney? I could save some money and enjoy the benefit of CAA if I joined. Any input appreciated!

AAA and CAA Resort Hotel Discounts

American Automobile Association (AAA) and Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) members qualify for "room only" discounts almost year-round, though there are a limited number of rooms available for each date. You can generally save about 10-20% at the Disney resort hotels, depending on the season.

In general, the discounts run as follows:

*

During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
*

During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
*

During Peak Season and Summer Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.
*

The only time AAA/CAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas) at the Value and Moderate resorts.

You don't have to book AAA/CAA rates through the Auto Club. Room-only reservations with an AAA discount can be booked directly through the Disney Reservation Center at (407) W-DISNEY or a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel. Just ask if there is an AAA or CAA discount for your dates and resort.

AAA/CAA rates for all of the following year are usually released in the summer. 2008 AAA/CAA "room only" discounts were released on August 5, 2007.

I have booked our last two trips with CAA & saved about $200 each time over the online Disney pricing. We don't need the roadside assistance portion of the membership so we just buy an a la carte membership for around $35.

FYI- you don't have to buy the full membership to get the benefits. They sell an al-a-carte membership without auto coverage. I think i got mine last year for about $30 and it gave me access to all services including travel without the auto coverage. So you could get a quote with them. However, depending on when you go, you could also get a code rate that equals or is higher then CAA discount. Last yr i was booked with CAA and then quoted with a general public discount and they were the same.

Your CAA card also gets your various discounts here in Canada and in the US.

For example, in the Orlando area:

Universal Florida:
* Save $4.00 on a 2-Day/2-Park admission ticket purchased at the front gate.
* Save 10% on selected souvenirs and dining at both theme parks and at Universal. CityWalk, except for Emeril's® Restaurant Orlando and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.TM Restaurant & Market.

Hard Rock Cafe:

* Save 10% on food, beverages (not alcohol), and merchandise. Experience Hard Rock's fantastic food, exceptional service, awesome rock memorabilia and quality collectible merchandise while you enjoy cool music in a fun-filled atmosphere!

World of Discovery Parks (Seaworld, Busch Gardens, etc):

* Save $3.00 on one-day gate admission at all Worlds of Discovery parks (except Aquatica and Discovery Cove).
* Save $5.00 on multi-park/day admission where available at all Worlds of Discovery parks (except Discovery Cove).
* Save 10% on up-close dining venues.
* Receive a 10% discount on online one-day admission.
* Receive a 8% - 10% discount online multi-day/park admission.

You can also receive discounts on hotels, car rentals and lots of other services.

We booked through CAA for our upcoming trip in December. I do not know if it was a particular promotion at the time we booked (late April) but we got the Dining Plan (basic) for free (it is not the Free DDP season!). I compared with Disney and it was the same price, but dining was not included! They also found my airfare for a great price (which I also compared and it did not even come close to the pice I got from CAA--at least $200 per ticket!!). They even offer to book your ADRs for you (I booked myself--planning freak!). Great experience with CAA.

THIS JUST IN: We received an email from the CAA TA: for some reason, the price I was quoted did not NOT include the dining plan. So basically, the package comes to the exact same price as on the Disney website. Because it is Holiday Season, there is no discount! BUMMER!

i have tried searching for this info... do you know a link to this al-a-carte membership ?
thanks !

no, i went into see the TA and told her i didn't need auto coverage, and she advised me about this. So i just went to the counter and purchased it. It is valid for 1 yr,.
