My experience has been that when the coupon says save 20% by a certain date and then save 10% after the 20% date expires, they will give you the 10% discount even though it's expired, but they won't give you the 20%. However, if the coupon only has one discount on it, they should give you the discount no matter the expiration date.
Mine doesn't. They started refusing them this summer. I got a lame excuse that our store "was never supposed to accept expired coupons". This after the store has been open, what, five years??? They don't look like they have been doing nearly as good in sales, this year, as they have in years past. I hope you find you can still use yours, tho'.
I was told this summer that they would no longer accept expired coupons. Since then, I have used expired coupons just about every time I go in with no problems. Go figure...
The last time I was there, i forgot my coupon. My purchase was only $10 and I said to the cashier "i really hate buying things here without the coupon" She told me to just come back with the receipt and a coupon and they will adjust the price. I never did, but that is an option too.
It seems to depend upon the market. Just call your BB&B and ask. Our stores accept them. Saturday I used one $5 off coupon (expired), one Yankee Candle coupon (not expired) and three 20% off coupons (2 were expired).
My local BB&B stores (Rockaway, E. Hanover & Newton, NJ)all take expired coupons. I used three from 2009 the other day that were addressed to my father. But... the Harmon stores I frequent (E. Hanover & Franklin, NJ) won't take expired coupons, only current ones.
I am a former BB&B employee & it was always the policy to take their own expired coupons! They will also take competitor coupons but those cannot be expired.
