I don't watch this show regularly, but sometimes I happen to catch it as I'm flipping through channels. It irritates me, but I find myself glued to the TV nonetheless because I find it mildly fascinating. :sad2:

I was *really* annoyed by Dr. Rey's wife in last night's episode, though. Did any of you see it? She is claiming that she is so stressed out by raising her two kids that now she can't eat, and she's dropped to 88 pounds (how tall is this woman? )

I just found her incredibly whiny. I mean, millions of women raise two kids... some of them even work, too! And here she is living in this beautiful house in Beverly Hills, complaining about how stressful her life is because of her 2 children. Grrrrr.

I think Dr. Rey is a jerk and not a very good husband, but the wife is suddenly just as insipid.

I have seen the show, but did not see it last night. If things are that tough for her, why doesn't she hire some help. Heck, it's not like they don't have the money. Yeah, she's got some nerve complaining, tough life.

I watched as she got on the scale and it didnt move that far :guilty: .... my 6yo weighs 63 pounds..

She does seem to have issues... her kids are also a few years apart.. try having them back to back.

I've seen it before too! I have always thought the same about his wife. I always thing "What is he doing with her?" She just seems VERY dependent.

she also said something like "I researched what I should weigh, and I don't agree with it b/c they don't account for bone structure, but I should weigh 105"

So she can't be that tall to begin with, but thats still super unhealthy

I didn't see the most recent episode, but I agree about the wife. She is always whining. The Dr. does leave a lot to be desired as far as husbands go--very self-absorbed.

One of the funniest things I've seen on the show was when the wife took their new baby to the office for what I think was the first visit. Anyway, the baby was being passed around by all the office women. The wife commented that since she and all the women have fake breasts the baby has no idea what real breasts feel like. For some reason, that just cracked me up. :lmao:

I like doctor Rey. He's always seemed so compassionate to me. HE always does work for free on lower income people who need it. I've never been able to stand his wife. All she does is whine and complain. And while I do understand that he's never home, she's just a bit much to me and seems really ungrateful. And 88lbs? :sad2: I think he seems like a good husband, but he's not home enough for his family.

I also didnt realize they are 14 years apart...

I think Dr. Rey is not only self-absorbed but also a little too flirtatious with his female patients. Sometimes I feel that his interactions with them are really inappropriate....

The reality is she is probably raising these children alone (I've never seen a nanny or any other family around) while he works very long and demanding hours. The debts of medical school, being the ONLY doctor in the office in LA no less, and keeping qualified staff are staggering. Yes, he comes off as a weenie and her as an airhead but I'm going to go out on a limb and say their lives aren't all that charmed and most of their cash comes from whatever they are paid to do the show. Anyway, I hope she is ok. I was 100lbs at 5' 5" and looked skeletal.

I admit it - Dr. 90210 is a guilty pleasure. I don't know when it is on, but when I see it when I'm flipping channels, I stop to watch.

Yeah, the wife is really irritating. It's like she's the only one who has ever had little kids. If SHE can't handle it with the money she has, think about the single moms who are working two jobs to try to support their kiddos.

I read somewhere that she is 5' 7" which equals to completely emaciated if she is really that height and weighs only 88lbs. I don't like her but she completely needs some help.

Well, of course he *looks* pretty young...he's a plastic surgeon :goodvibes !

agnes!

88 lbs.? Give me a break... that is just gross and completely unhealthy. I saw bits and pieces of the episode last night and that whole marriage is just a little weird IMO. I'd like to know where she heard that a healthy weight for her would be 105 lbs.... that just doesn't seem right at all.

I started watching this show here and there when it first started last year and I can assure you the wife has not changed. She has been whinny and needy since day one. Anyone recall when Dr. Rey was into karate? She nearly had a nervous breakdown. IMO, I think she needs to get a life or something.

I didn't see last night's episode, but I have seen scenes where he talks about wanting another child, and she doesn't right now, but he says he can usually wear her down and talk her into whatever he wants. Great marriage, not!!

I love this show! Mostly because of the freaks/nutcases.

He is a doctor........trying to establish himself in LA......the land of plastic surgeons! He HAS to put in long hours (really, just as any other doctor must). His wife was aware of this when she married him. I do think he is self-absorbed, but think that he also needs stress relief (tae kwon do) which she despises. She needs to get her OWN life instead of trying to define herself by what her husband does (Mrs. Dr. Rey). I used to hear that alot when I was in the military...."I'm Mrs. Major Smith"........no, you are Mrs. Smith, period. Get your own life and make your own sucesses.

They are? Do you know their ages? He looks pretty young.

he is 44 and she is 31. Opps make that 13 years apart.

Laughs! My dh and I were watching this, too. He and I both feel that they are very self absorbed. He certainly gives more of himself charitably in his profession and she seems to resent everything! Im thinking married to a doctor you have to know going in that he will be working long hours and on call! Personally they both have huge short comings and they deserve each other!!!! I just wonder if they ever watch themselves on TV and see how immature they can be!

P.S. I wish I could be so stressed out that I couldnt eat! I seem to have the opposite reaction to stress!

I can understand all that, but I'm sure no one actually forced them to buy a fancy schmancy mansion that they can't easily pay for! They chose that for themselves.
