Does anyone walk around the Fort?

I have nothing against skipping, I just don't swing that way.

I tried skipping once,,and your right Jim, first ya swing one way and then the other.

I love this board! Such friendly people and helpful responses! While I don't think I will have any luck getting my husband to skip-a-long the paths of the Fort, we will really enjoy the walking!

My daughter is going to love all the picture taking opportunities on our walks as well. She is a budding nature photographer I think. Last year on our trip, her camera was loaded with pictures of the ducks at MK, squirrels at AK, a lizard on the wall of Rose & Crown (pretty cool pic actually), as well as numerous sunset and flower pics. It is kind of funny really because here we are at Disney and she is obsessed with animals, flowers, and sunsets! Anyway, I think the walking path through the Fort will be perfect for her photos!

Speaking of paths... one more question... How is the trail to Wilderness Lodge? Is that the swamp trail? If not, where does the swamp trail lead???

The path to Wilderness Lodge is called the exercise trail. It is a nice, level, paved trail.

The Wilderness Swamp Trail really doesn't exist anymore. There is a trail that runs from behind the Settlement Trading Post to the back of the 300 loop. That trail ends at a canal. If you cross that canal, that is where the Swamp Trail used to be. This trail used to include a boardwalk that went into a cypress swamp along Bay Lake. The boardwalk was not maintained, and eventually rotted and it has since been removed. You can still wander around back there, and chances are that you will see deer and other wildlife, but there is no boardwalk anymore.

If your daughter enjoys taking photos of wildlife, it's definitely worth a walk over to and behind the 300 canal (the old swamp trail TCD described). We usually stay on 300 and walk our dogs there. We see ducks and rabbits and deer there all the time.

And once a coyote... but thankfully he was on the other side ...and walking away. (eek)

Actually in November our site backed up to the bushes along that part of the 300 loop and 4 deer walked right through the back of it one morning!

You are absolutely right,
one first needs to learn how to balance the red plastic cup at a walking pace so not to spill any when learning to run.
