Does anyone use limo companies anymore?

Disney's Magical Express isn't affiliated with Spirit Airlines, which is who we are flying with in December.

For my last trip, I got a lot of information on transportation companies from this board, but now it seems like everyone uses ME.

Has anyone used a limo company lately, and if so, how was your experience? We have 6 travelers, so I guess we need either a limo or a van.

Thanks!

Our last trip was one month after ME started...we got a little freaked with all the stories so went with Tiffany Town Car...had great service...picked us up at the bottom of the escalator near baggage...carried our stuff for us...stopped at Publix for the grocery stop...and on the way back were 15 minutes earlier than they said for our return to the airport, but didn't expect us to leave early...only if we wanted. (For a 6:30 pm departure, we were scheduled for pick up at 4:30pm.) We plan to use them again for our Christmas trip. Plus, if you have a copy of the Passporter you can save $8 RT. We really enjoyed the individualized attention.

We just used Tiffany Towncar's stretch limo last month and had the same great service we'd always had before :)

We used Prestige Town cars in June (they have now merged with Tiffany Towncars). Their price was lower than most and we had wonderful service and a great driver. Also had a $5.00 coupon for reserving online. Saved a lot of money by buying groceries before arriving at our Disney resort. I would highly recommend them.....prestigetowncars.com or tiffanytowncars.com.

Don't forget that anyone can use DME, whether or not they are flying a 'participating' airline!! All travelers can use the yellow DME luggage tags that will alert the baggage handlers at MCO to take your luggage off the plane and deliver it to the DME luggage truck. You, and your family, will go directly from your plane to the DME check-in desk, get your voucher stamped so that they know you have arrived. Then onto the bus and off to WDW. Meanwhile your luggage is being put on a different truck, and your stuff will be delivered to your resort room within a few hours. Our stuff got to us 1/2 hr after we were able to get our room.
Then, when it's time to go home, you can just leave your luggage with bell services and then return when it's time to board the bus. Get your luggage from bell services and the bus driver will put them under the bus and it's off to the airport where you will proceed as you normally would. Bags get checked, you go through security. The only thing that using a 'participating' airline does is allow you to 'check' your luggage right at your resort, thereby removing the hassle of taking it with you to the airport. This service is run by the TSA not Disney. Yes, it's very nice to get on the bus and go right to security and not have to lug bags around. But do not misunderstan...every traveler can use DME when they arrive at MCO. If you want to use a towncar, that's okay too. Just wanted to be sure you fully understand how DME works and save you the money you would spend on a van or limo...if that is an issue for you. I know it is for us!!!

Thanks! I wasn't sure if this was a possibility. I appreciate your help!

We were in WDW in May when ME just started. However, despite the extra cost, our family prefers to have a towncar. We have used QUICKSILVER many times and rate them best in terms of the companies we've used in Orlando.
We prefer to pay for the transportation for a few reasons:
1. We are coming from Minnesota, and believe it or not, sometimes we leave a snowstorm in May to arrive in 80 degree Orlando. We want our luggage with us as soon as we arrive at the hotel. Yes, we could pack carry-ons, but we save room in those for necessities and plane ride accessories.
2. LOVE the special treatment we get with our own personal and professional driver.
3. We are DVC people, so we tend to stop at Publix for groceries to last the week.
4. We only make one resort stop. We get there FAST, no lines, our driver picks us up at the luggage corral and takes us to the awaiting towncar and off we go.
For us, the extra $20-$25 a person for a roundtrip with a towncar is well worth the money.
