does anyone use DVC website Reservation Request form? waitlist?

just curious, has anyone tried to reserve a room using the DVC website form?
and then it turns out the room was not available.
then what?
does MS automatically put you on the waitlist?

i know one time i tried to use email to make a reservation, and the MS agent told me they can't do it by email, and would prefer it if i submitted the form on DVC's website.
she also said something along the lines of that they can't put you on the waitlist over email. and that you have to call MS to do that. (i don't understand the reasoning behind that one at all)

anyway, has anyone tested this out?

I would be curious to know how many people use the email service at ALL. I'm just too chicken. I want to hear, from a human, non-computer-generated voice, that my ressie is secure and all is well, and have that ressie confirmation # in hand!

Besides... when you use the computer, you miss out on that occasional wonderful interaction with the MS. My sister called one time and got a guy who said, "Welcome to Disney Vacation CLub. THis is Buzz, how may I help you today?" Thinking she mis-heard, she repeated, "Buzz?" His chipper response: "To Infinity And Beyond!" And the last time I called, the MS person asked if I wanted info on anything else... and then started volunteering topics, like SSR, certain concierge collection places, asking me my family demographics and what we like to do, and then making suggestions for our next trip.

CAn't get that from the email service.

Did use the e-mail service for a 2 nighter coming in Feb at VWL and it worked fine but in this day and age of on-line booking etc. it is very much out of date. Disneyberry, I did not have to waitlist so I cannot answer your full question - I know I did have to have a first and second choice resort and it would not let me pick the same resort for both choices.

What really needs to happen is at least on-line inventory to make it easier to check on what is available and where
