Does anyone think free dining for nov for general public will come out

Hi: I am one who never gets a pin, but does anyone think general public free dining will come out for november?

Deb.

Yes, they have had free dining for the general public in November for the last several years. The October-December free dining dates are not usually announced annually until July, sometimes August. The dates will probably be November 11/11 - 11/23 and 11/30 - 12/4, give or take :-)

yes, but i will interested to see what dates they have. the pin has the saturday before Thanksgiving but lately the general public FD dates have that ended on the Thursday before Thanksgiving.

I think they will this year because the pins they are sending out now are free dining and it goes till dec.

Pins were released for earlier in the year as well, but not to general public this year. I am really HOPING it is released to GP, but not 100% counting on it due to many things being different this year.

Just thought I would share. I have a co worker staying on site in November at a moderate resort. She kept hearing about all of the pin offers going out but had not received one. She called reservations and asked if the free dining could be added to her package and they did it for her. I dont' know if it was just luck or what. She figured it would not hurt to ask the worst they could say would be no. She is one happy lady I can tell you.

She is probably either going in September or had a pin associated with her account. I don't think they just randomly pick people to give free dining to. :goodvibes

There was a pin attached to her name in the Disney reservations system, definitely wasn't luck :-)

This isn't necessarily the case. You can have it added without a code, pending on the CM. If they know the code they CAN add it without the pin. It's happened before, and strangely, happened for a few people on this very board last year. Including my friend.

It really sounds like your friend just got one of those super cool CM's.

Yes, there is an override code, but it has to be applied by a supervisor under a very certain set of circumstances. They are not going to do this just because someone calls and says, "can I have some free dining?" or because some random CM is "cool."

Yes they can. That's how our friend got it last year... no supervisor needed. It's also one of the reasons people can't share the 3 digit confirmation # on here when they get a pin. Last November, someone posted the info for a day and a LOT of people went on and asked to have it applied... it worked for some, not others. Just look at past posts. I remember when it first happened, and people were either really excited, or really ticked. And then someone mentioned that the CM's were probably going to get in BIG TROUBLE for adding so many that didn't actually have PINS. Supervisors are not needed. And, yes, they can just be "cool" (or new).

Pin codes do not have 3 digits, they have 15 digits. For a CM to use a 3 digit supervisor code, they will most certainly have to answer to their supervisor. And occasionally there have been supervisor codes leaked on these boards and it is against Disboards policy to share those codes and people will receive a points violation and the thread will be shut down. If it worked for some, they certainly got a CM who didn't know what they were doing because being "cool" as you put it, could cost them their job.

There are always people wanting to find a way to skirt the system, so lets not encourage people by telling them there are "cool" CMs out there who will do this for them. The vast majority of Disney guests will not get pin codes and the vast majority of the people calling in asking for a free dining pin code are not going to get one - the few that do are simply going to already have one attached to their name in the Disney reservations system - not because some random CM decided it was worth risking his job to use a supervisor code. This kind of random "we'll, it happened to my friend" information just gets everyone's hopes up, when in reality no one at Disney is just going "give" them a huge discount because their employees are being "cool."

Most of the pin code email FD dates, other than the August dates, will be released to the general public this summer, probably in July, as they have been the last several years.

Whatever. I'm just saying that some people have had it happen for them, and you said they "had to" have a pin attached. Some people do get lucky. And, every pin code is attached to a symbol code. I have mine from last year. My code produced a 3 symbol code. I'm guessing it's not a "supervisor" only code considering all pins turn into the 3 symbol code. I'd tell you my 3 digit code from last year, but that's probably not allowed either even when expired.

The three digit codes are not given by supervisors. If anyone received the discount without actually having a pin it would have been because the CM did not follow policy.

Boy I sure do hope so, especially since DD turns 10 before then.princess: We want to go in Nov and can't really go without it.:scared: It's @ $2300 savings for us for 8 or 9 nights!

It doesn't get my hopes up at all. It would make me feel kind of unworthy, if I believed CMs just randomly chose people to get the discount. :snooty: :rotfl:

Right, folks. I'm not saying everyone should go call and ask for it being applied. My point just goes back to the OP. Their friend was given one without a Pin Code on their account and was told that was impossible. I thought that was kind of unfair to the OP. So, I was just interjecting with the fact that it IS, IN FACT, possible.

If you aren't reading boards like this, you'd have no clue if a CM was following the proper procedure or not(My guess is the OP's friend falls into this category). The majority of people who visit Disney have NEVER been on this site. I've never called in and asked for one when I didn't have it. My point is just, "it can happen". Not likely, probably fairly rare, but it does happen.

yes, but i will interested to see what dates they have. the pin has the saturday before Thanksgiving but lately the general public FD dates have that ended on the Thursday before Thanksgiving.

This is what I wonder. We'll be checking in on 11/23 so if I don't get a PIN (I called today and no such luck) and they do extend it to the general public, I hope the cut-off date isn't earlier than 11/23.
