Does anyone take taxi cabs at WDW?

This would be so easy with a rental car but we do'nt have one for this trip. We 're staying at ASSp before checking into OKW for 2 nights ( just a weekend trip ) We will have the DDP and i would like to check into OKW before the parks open only because we need our KTTW cards so we can use our credits for lunch in the parks. Would a taxi be the way to go? We've never used one so not sure if it's the easiest. Who do we call, how $$$? TIA

A taxi will be the easiest way to get there. From AS to OKW, plan on about a $10-15 cab fare, plus tip, depending on traffic.

Definitely take a cab. While I know I have always seen them waiting at the more expensive resorts, they can easily call one for you from the lobby of AS SP. I would ask the night before when you check in how much time to allow the next morning to get a cab. I think $15 +/- is probably a closer estimate for that distance.

Just came back and expensive:

CSR to Bahama Breeze--basically $20
Bahama Breeze to premium outlets $6
Our Lady Queen Catholic Church back to CSR $22

AKL to CSR $10 or so

You can call bell services from your room and they can have a cab waiting for you. That's what we did in May when we stayed at Pop Century, and the fares to even Wilderness Lodge were about $15 one way (not including a tip).

You could also just take a bus from All Star to one of the parks, say Epcot or the Studios, and then a bus to OKW.

For $2 more you could just take the cab all the way and be there a good half hour faster. Why mess around?
