My DH constantly says he can't watch some game b/c we don't have MLB.TV. I thought I would get it for his birthday. I thought I would be calling up the local cable company, but after looking online, this appears to be a website that shows baseball games on the computer. Obviously, I should have listened more when he was talking about this!

Does anyone have this? How does it work? Is it worth the money? Is the premium package worth the extra $20?

TIA.

I have the audio package through mlb.com and sometimes wish I had the tv package, but i dont think I would use that much here at work. at home if I had a chocie I would rather have the mlb extra innings pack to watch on my tv (through directv) rather then my computer but the computer tv package is much cheaper and not a bad deal at all.

so i guess to help answer your question, there is a package through cable as well as computer. my pref would be through cable as I get high def on bigger screen.

My mom subscribes to it, and has for the past ohh 5-6 years I'd say. It's through the internet, so pretty much as long as you have acces to a computer and the internet you can watch from anywhere! I'm not sure if she has the premium, but she gets all the games in HD and such, so maybe she does.

I know my mom really enjoys it, it's great if she's away for a game because she can go back and watch the archived video of it as soon as the game is over.

The only thing I'd mention is that you'd need to have a fairly fast internet connection, and the HD videos suck up a lot of bandwith so you'll have to watch that if your provider only allows you a certain amount (ie: we had to switch from 30GB/month to 60)

If you have any specific questions I can double check with my mom!

We used to get it through the cable company and ended up paying extra monthly for the box rental because we don't subscribe to any other premium channels.

For the past two years, my son has gotten it on the computer and he's happy with it. We do not pay the extra $20 because my son is just interested in seeing the Red Sox games. Also, we have a Mac computer and the screen is big enough that it's like watching it on a tv.
