I am running low on tape and I have the older kind that isn't refillable. Do the craft stores sell one that is as good or better than the ones Creative Memories sells?

Don't you just hate the idea that they stopped making the old style tape runner? I HATE the new style and I'm only using it to use it up. I have 6 of the old style still hidden in my scrapbook room. LOL

I have used the hermafix style - repositionable dots. I like it just as much as the CM dispenser. I recently purchased another hermafix dispenser for the permanent dots. I don't like the hermafix tabs because they are way too big.

Good luck

I don't like the new CM ones! My friend, a CM Consultant, has a few of the old tape runners that she is willing to part with but she is currently out of town and I want to put some pages together now. Thanks for the suggestion! I will give it a try.

I just love my Hermafix repositionable dots - easy to use and easy to load into the dispenser!

I just wanted to add another vote for the Hermafix - It is so easy to use and I love it!

CM has gone back to the refillable versions. Also they have a new smaller version.

The new refillable version is the one I don't like. I have a friend that I got into scrapbooking. She has only used the refillable version. When she grabbed my older version, she couldn't beleive how much easier it was to use. She has now also switched to a hermafix.

The girls in my monthly crop club agree with all of you......the new CM dispenser is awful. I like the old one......seen some on ebay.....might end up bidding on them.

i am now using a little throw away dispenser by Manco, it has a little yellow duck on it. Easy Stick. however the reposionalble one is not good, the paper falls off the page. I do love the permanent....wal mart sells them in the school supply isle for 2.30....the have Creating Keepsakes approval for memory books

Although I use mounting squares for pictures and small stuff, for wallpapering, putting mats together, etc I LOVE a tape runner.

I have used the CM and several others but quite frankly the one I use most is by 3M. It is a little purple throw away dealy. I buy a pack of 4 for about $7 or $8 at Sam's Club. But I have seen them sold individually at several stores in the area. The tape is narrower than a lot of the tape runners too which I like.

Once again those personal preference thing.

I am sooooooo glad I am not the only one that does NOT like the new CM tape runner. I can't stand that tail out of the top!!
I will say that I do like having the smaller tape runner. It is much easier to paste die-cuts.

I like the Permanent Mono Adhesive Tape. It isn't repositional though so, I use it for matting & wallpapering, etc.... For my repositional stuff I use the Xyron machine especially letters & die cuts. Good Luck... You'll find something you like soon. I don't like the CM tape anymore either. The tape keeps guming up.

being sold at Walmart. The case is orange and it is made by the same company that makes the paper trimmers with orange blades....Fiskars. I finally thought of it! Melanie

What a shame that so many folks hate the new CM tape runner. I don't mind it and I like that I am not throwing away a big hunk of plastic every time I am done with a tape runner. The tape coming out the top is a bit annoying, but I haven't experienced the jamming or gumming up as some of you have. A tip---if you are close to your CMC, ask her to order you a case of the old style tape runners; last I checked (a week or so ago), they were still available. I think for $20 or $25 for 6! Not a bad deal.

I just looked at the CMC website----they are still being sold for $20 for a case of 6 while supplies last. If enough people are interested maybe I could do a group order for y'all if you want. It's $15 for CM to ship to me for an order under $500, but you could split that cost amongst however many people want to order, and then maybe $5 for me to ship to you?? It's totally up to you guys if you want me to order for you.

I am placing my CM order today. I would be happy to order the old style tape runners. As previously stated they are $20.00 a case of 6. Let me know if anyone is interested.

My friend, a CM Consultant, tried to tell me today that a case of 6 was about $40???!!! I bought one from her, she is back in town, and I paid $6 something for it. Now I feel stupid if I could of gotten 6 of them for $20 somewhere else.

That is how much they originally cost; if she had them in stock, she is probably selling them for what she originally paid for them, which is fair. BUT, if she ordered them recently, that case only cost her $20- sometimes when CM is trying to liquidate their stock, they discount it deeply to CMC's. It's up to individual CMC's to decide how much they want to sell it for. For example- a few months back they had the Times of Your Life pack buy one, get one free for CMC's. I bought two, and instead of charging the usual $29.50 for them, I offered them for $20 each to my customers. Yes, I made a profit, but they got a bargain too.

Okay, now this makes sense. I am sure she had the case for quite some time and needed to make some money on them so is selling them for the original price of $6 something each. Thanks for the information.

I love my Hermafix and still use it some. I just recently found this tape runner at my lss and I love it! It's called EZ tape runner Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L. It's not refillable but just as cheap if not cheaper than Hermafix. I have not have any trouble with it not working good. I have been through three of them already. They seem to do a lot. This is the first online scrapbook store I found it at. I have not ever ordered from them and am just sending it for ya'll to see the product. http://www.scrappershaven.com/Merch...-01642Lezrunner&Category_Code=999newadhesives
