I made my first turkey 6 years ago when we were first married. It turned out awesome! I combined a couple of recipes, including a Martha one, that had some large cut carrots and other veggies in the bottom of the roaster while the turkey cooked. Afterwards you took these veggies and ground them down and added them to the gravy.

Does anybody know this recipe or have done this before? I cannot remember what veggies other than carrots were used! I'm finally getting to make my second turkey today and wanted to repeat this part.

TIA!

I put a little flour, celery, and onions in a bag with my turkey. It really is wonderful that way. Good luck!

I've never used pureed veggies to thicken my gravy but I'm going to guess there was probably some onion and celery in there with the carrots.
