I saw lots of little white lights on baconies at okw- this was right after Christmas - so maybe it isn't typical.

OK, I a decorations nut. We would always put lights on our balcony at Old Key West...and not just for Christmas....shamrocks, hearts, and fish (my favorite).

John

;) I might bring some down in March for our BCV  stay, then leave them in the OL.

March:worship: I can't WAIT till Nov:scared:

Bring some green construction paper to put behind the lights for a "green" tinge for St. Pattys day:lmao:

John why do you decorate your balcony with fish??:lmao:
We go pretty big with the Christmas house decorations.
Good to hear from you.

lights that look like fish, Chris.

Sort of fits in the the OKW theme...and they're really cool.

I have mini-lights in my Owner's Locker. Sometimes we put them on the balcony and sometimes around the slider to the balcony. Season doesn't matter.

Next week Vero Beach -- I need to borrow John's fish lights! ;)

It's the electrical extension cord that causes us not do this. I think OKW has an outlet outside for 1-2 bedrooms, but at the BWV or VWL there aren't any. During December we string the lights over the drapery rod and leave the drapes open. I wouldn't want to leave our slider opened to accomodate the cord.

John I see a possible OL rental situation here! ;)

OL Light Rental, catchy isn't it?:rotfl2:

I know you aren't asking about decorations during Christmas, but I wanted to pass along this story as a "warning". :)

We did decorate with some lights at VWL during our Christmas stay a few years ago. In our handout at check-in they specifically indicated that illuminated decorations were not allowed on the balconies and may be removed if displayed.

I asked a couple of CM's about that and they said it protected Disney (surprise, surprise) in case anyone complained about the lights they had the right to pull them down without permission. They told me to go ahead and decorate if we wanted to, but if we came back at some point and the lights were gone it meant that someone complained about them.

I guess nobody complained as we had them up for the entire week. :santa:

We have stayed at the CR for the past 9 years for Christmas and have 2 rooms joining facing MK and put colored lights on both balconies. Our rooms are right in line with the Christmas tree out front. I use a timer to keep them on until morning and the monorail CMs say they look forward to seeing them each night and early morning when they get started.:3dglasses

Yes, both inside and out (at least during the holidays). This was from Christmas last year.
