I'vs only hear bad reviews......has anyone on here had a good experience with it?

Thanks!

We had a great experience with it! When it works, it's genius—free money to spend however you like at Walt Disney World. It's just in the last year or so that the website has become so buggy that it appears to be practically unusable. :(

I actually love it. Only had one issue with it so far where it was down for a day, but none of my guests were trying to access it or anything.

I love it! It's giving us the opportunity to do extra special things on our honeymoon that we may not have. And we don't really need anything for our house, so it's perfect! The website is a little annoying at times, but it's really a great idea :)

I absolutely love the idea of it. I haven't really had any problems with it, but then none of my guests have tried to use it yet either because it's too early on. But I've logged on a bunch of times and never had a problem. Hopefully Disney is getting the bugs worked out...

We used the registry and we loved it. The worst part about it for us was that many of our guests are not computer savvy at all, so they couldn't use it, but everyone else had no problem. Everything was put on a gift card, that was sent to us really quickly, and we had no problems using the gift card at any of the places we tried.

Given that whenever someone tried to use the registry, it said we weren't on it, NO!! The idea was a good one, but unless you ate checking it yourself daily, I wouldn't assume that its working correctly.

We had a horrific experience with it so a few months before the wedding we canceled it and registered our Disney Honeymoon with Traveler's Joy. They made it super easy to set-up with an Instant Registry function and our guests had no issues giving gifts. Even better, the gift redemption process was a breeze!

We had the same problem with the Disney registry :( We used Honeymoon Wishes instead. They have great customer service and getting our gifts/money multiple times was so easy and no extra charges! I can not say enough nice things about them!

I just set up our registry today and it worked fine, about 8 months ago it was very bonky and I was frustrated with it!

We were married 10-10-10 and Honeymooned there also and the Registry worked great! Our Guests had no issues using the site and we had no problems using the card all around Disney including the Food & Wine booths.

I don't really know what to think about it. We used it, eventually got the really beautiful card (best part of it in my opinion). Not even one of our guests used it. I don't know if it was because of not really knowing computers well for some of them or just not wanting to give us money through it. :confused3
We ended up getting mostly gift cards and money from our guests. About half of our guests gave us nothing, not even a card (these were family members). But the other half really made up for it and we were overwhelmed.

I actually wished even just one person would have used it though. I loved the idea and the website did work most of the time I tried accessing it. I'm glad others were successful because I was really wondering if it was just our guests or if it was the website.

To be honest, as a wedding guest I wouldn't use any trip registry site for a wedding gift... but then again I have a hard time giving cash or a check as a gift as well. :confused3

To me, a gift is an object that dh and I choose as a reflection of our relationship to the happy couple. It goes in a box, and is wrapped and handed to them (or placed on a gift table). The only non-object gift that we've given was a night at a bed & breakfast for some close friends (who travel often and love B&Bs)...otherwise it is something special for them.

Somehow it is just wrong inside my brain to donate $$$ to the happy couple's honeymoon...but I am in the minority so have fun!

I've tried to check mine a few times within the past few weeks and I haven't been able to get onto it any time. Frustrating to say the least.

Honeymoon registries are the "new" thing with bridal showers. I think it has to do with a lot of people marrying later in life and really don't need any more boxes of "stuff".

Engagement parties are also really big now too...I really didn't want one but my mother insisted we have one...I would have rather she put the money towards the wedding but instead she did that and we really appreciated it and had a great time at it!

You are exactly right. DH and I both had everything we needed and most people asked if we were registered anywhere. We ended up trying the Honeymoon registry and I really wished it had worked. I think most of the problem we had was with our guests being confused by it (older, not computer savvy people). We felt obligated when our wedding got closer to actually go out to a store and do a formal Bridal Registry. We chose Bed Bath and Beyond and we still had not one person buy anything, :rotfl:. We did however get 2 gift cards from the store. Which was nice because we used them on something we really wanted.

There's an annoying bug (that I've reported) where if you're already logged in, and come back to the site, it can't find your registry. Log out, log back in, and it's there. Frustrating.

I'm also somewhat annoyed that some of the newer options on the Disney Dream aren't there yet, nor is there some of the things like Dining with an Imagineer or Wild Africa Trek. :confused3 It's only a minor quibble (people like to pay for specific experiences), but since what you're really getting is credit on a gift card, you can still use it however you want. We've had to register for a couple of things that are similar to what we want to do because the option wasn't in the registry.

That said ... We set it up before Christmas last year, so we've told family and friends not to get us gifts for anything leading up to our wedding, just get us something on the registry. Our wedding isn't until September, and we've already had $580 put on our Honeymoon Gift Card!

Of course, we're now realizing that there are some things we need to pay for in advance, because they need to be booked early. Coupled with the issue that the card can only hold $3000 (we registered for more than that), and we may be scrambling in the last weeks to get things paid for to free up room on the card.

Overall, however, it's pretty convenient, as long as you have tech-savvy family. Disney has a Gift Card app for the iPhone that we logged our card on, so we can always see the balance, too. That's a nice perk.

That is cool to know!!! Thanks!! :)

Now if they will just send me my card so I can register.......... :sad2:
