How many hours to drive down the coast from San Fran to DL? I am going to SF for 5 days but really really really wanna stop for a few days to DL, help, I am really itchy to go only after being back a few months now. Thanks for any help I can get

I believe it is about an 8 hours drive down the PCH. Although I have never done it myself, I have researched it because it is something I want to do.

i wouldnt recommend it unless your a scenic lover. Whoever is the rider always gets sick driving PCH. its insanely car sick area between San Lius Obispo and Monterey Bay.

I tell you that from Fairfield it takes 7 to 8 hours. That is driving down I-5.
I think that in your case driving down from San Francisco you wou;d drive down Highway 1. So 8 hours sounds about right.

It's 8+ hours down Higway 1, it's about 8 hours on 101, and I think around 6.5 taking the more inland route - of course, traffic will factor in the times, too.

I don't get that, the driver always gets car sick? Is that even if they don't get motion sickness at all? Looks like I may hvave to fly if the price is right

naw, the driver never gets sick. Whenever my dad drives, i get insanely sick.

Take the 5 freeway, or the 101.

5 freeway = around 6 hours going 80-85mph.

I agree with these #'s, too. As well as the carsick from Monterrey to SLO part! Been there, done that.

But, southwest has been having specials for $39 each way anywhere in CA. So, you could fly from San Jose to Ontario for under $100 round trip. That's less than the gas to drive would be!

You'd need to rent a car to get from Ontario to anaheim, but it would be worth the time savings, I'd think. It's about a 1 hour flight, gate-to-gate.
