As I stated in an earlier thread somewhere( forget where), that this trip to WDW for 8 days. Is our first and because it is so expensive, this is going to be my familys christmas, birthdays and everything all rolled into one. If we say something to someone, will they still do something special for the kids and possibly the wife even if it isn't their birthdays? I ask this because we have agreed (the wife and I) to forgoe the ritual of giving gifts this year so that we can do the whole wdw thing.

I think if you mention it when you make your ADR's, some of the restaurants will and some won't. I think the same goes with your resort. The general rule seems to be, it's nice if something special is done, but don't expect it.

Maybe plan one meal where you can celebrate all of your b-days. We had DH's b-day lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, they asked ahead of time if I wanted a cake (approx $12) they asked the age and when we arrived our table was decorated with streamers and 48 (we counted) foil/glitter Mickey heads for my DH's 48th b-day! I thought they did a good job. We did skip the special order cake, but if it were for the whole family I think I would have done it, they did however bring DH a cupcake with a candle.

I would certainly ask around and have a family celebration.
