I'm not sure when OFFICIALLY, but our local MWR office told us all their Disney pricing will change mid January. Not sure if that includes AP's though...

Disney has not said if they are raising the price of the AP. But I am sure its coming. Expect the $5-10 hike like everything else.

They also usually give about 1-2 months heads up on when it will go into effect.

Do you think it will happen Jan 1st? i need to buy a AP for the room discount but now I am wondering if they will be offering any new packages on Jan 2 with the new MYW in conjunction with discounted rooms in late Jan.

Jan 2 - DVC member get a new discount - so I am bidding on Jan 2 or 1st.

Since I've never purchased an annual pass before, do you think they would raise the price to go into effect as soon as the beginning of Jan? We have a trip planned for mid-Jan and would like to buy our APs when we get there. But if they will go up in price between now and then, I would sacrifice the couple of weeks on the tail end to save the money. I know nobody can say for sure, but what is everyone's past experience?

you get a certificate - you can only get the annual pass at the parks - so go ahead and get it.

it doesn't start until it is activated at the parks.

Do I have this correct? You get a voucher to be turned in to get your AP, and then you have one year from that point on.

Do you actually have to have the AP in hand to get a room discount?

You don't need the ap to make a reservation; you will need it when you check in.

I called the WL they said that I would have to return with in 24 hours of checking in with a active AP, that way you can check in go the parks and activate it there and show them when you return.

We're getting APs for our trip in July, too, since we'll be there for a month and will be in and out of the parks almost every day. We were going to get them in mid-January so it would really be nice to know when prices are going up so we could get them beforehand!
