We are planning a quick trip to Disney World before our cruise. We will be there 3 nights. What I'd like to do is stay the 1st night room only and just use the pools and relax. For days 2 & 3 we would like to do the MYW 2 day package with Deluxe Dining. I know that we would have to make 2 separate reservations...1 for 1 night room only and 1 for 2 night MYW 2 day package with Deluxe Dining.

Here is my question...
Do I have to wait until Day #2 to start using the meals from the Dining Plan?

Could I do the 2 day package first and extend the dining on the last/3rd day? HELP :)

If you want the dining for all 3 nights but just 2 days of park tickets I'm pretty sure you can do it that way on one reservation. If you do it online, just change your park tickets to 2 day and you should be good to go, but you'll still have the dining for all 3 nights. I *think*. The reservation system online seems to be down right now, so I can't test that theory.

That is correct..as long as you have 2 days tickets you can get FD for the rest of your stay. We did that and will be there 9 days but are AP's and was cheaper getting the 2 day tickets to get FD for 9 days.

do the reservation with the dining first. do the "room only" for the 3rd night.
your dining credits are good until midnight of the day of checkout.

if I were you, I would not do the deluxe. if you do the regular dining plan, you could purchase counter service meals on day 2 "to go" (i have had them wrap panini sandwiches wiht plastic wrap for me at the food court) and eat them on the 3rd day. even if you order a meal "to go" at the food court, and keep it in your fridge, you can "nuke it" at the microwave in the food court the last day (if at a value or moderate resort)

Smidgy, that exact thought crossed my mind today. If I do the 2 day MYW and dining, it should last through midnight of the third day. I can then to room only for the 3rd night. We prefer deluxe because of character meals w/ kids. If i do regular, it will only be 2 table service meals total.

If I do that, and have 2 MYW, can I choose to use them Tuesday and Wednesday rather than Monday? I just want to be sure there aren't any stipulations with the use of tickets on specific days. Thanks for all of your help :)

You can use the tickets anytime. Of course if you did regular dining for 3 nights, that would give you 3 TS meals that could be used on any day -- 3 all on 1 day or 2 or Day 1 and 1 on Day 3 or in any manner you so choose.

Yes, you can use your tickets any days you want. So, if your package is for Monday & Tuesday and room only is Wednesday, you can save the tickets for the last two days.

And, your dining credits will be good until midnight Wednesday, the day you will be staying in your room only.
