Does anyone know - re: EZ Pass???

We travel up the east coast from VA to NY and I have noticed in several states that they have EZ Pass at the toll plaza's. I was wondering if as a Virginia resident I could purchase EZ Pass from one of the many states that offers it and use it in the states that offer the EZ Pass option, does anyone know?

You may be able to because a few areas in VA still have tolls

Yes you can. My dad has had an EZ pass from NY for years, and we live in NH. NH just got on the EZ pass system this summer. He has used that same pass all over the country. He has not bought a NH transponder; he'll continue to use his NY one.

Yes, you can. I live in VA and travel to NY and love to use my EZ Pass. Goggle it and you'll find the web address to apply.

We love E-Z pass. It has saved us so much time. Here's the link: www.ezpass.com I don't think it matters what state you buy it from.

Unless things have changed, it does matter on the state. We bought ours from NY because the unit was free, NJ charges for it. We were NJ residents at the time! Not sure if NY still is free for the unit, but worth checking on.

we're from Richmond, VA - you can use the pass from VA to NY - we have a "smart tag" but now it's part of EZPass - since late last year I believe. It definitely works, definitely saves tons of time by using those express lanes!

Yes, it's so much quicker to use those express lanes.
