I read from another post that at one time, someone from these boards listed a FL law regarding timeshare presentations. Like, I've read that the presentation doesn't actually begin until after breakfast. Not a problem because MOST of their food choices were horrible at Westgate and the Wyndham Palms. How long are you required by law to stay - if you don't eat or after breakfast. A 90 minute presentation can turn into 4 hours - so I've read!!!! I'd really like to bring this with me this time - so I can really get in and out within 90 minute.

Thank you in advance for any information!!! :bounce:

My advise to you is to not ask any questions. If you don't say anything, they will whip through the sales presentation much quicker. -HM

I saw a similar question on another thread, so I skimmed the pertinent Florida statutes and Florida Administrative Code, and could not find ANYTHING about a time limit on timeshare presentations.

Of course, I am not an attorney, and I have very little patience with reading all the legalese, so if someone else wants to tackle this, here are the links to the pertinent statutes and codes:

Start with chapter 61B-37 of the FL Administrative Code:

Florida Statute # is 721:

Not slamming, but... why even waste the time? If you felt that the others were a waste of time, nothing would be worth the lost vacation time.

It really depends on what they have told you. If it says on the paperwork 90 minutes-90 minutes is all you have to stay. Bring the paper work along with you, set your watch alarm and sit back and listen. When the alarm goes off, ask to be signed off. Be polite but firm that you must leave. They'll hand you a piece of paper that says you filled your obligation. They cannot keep you any longer and cannot charge you anything extra or not give you the perks for leaving after 90 minutes.

We do these about every other year. We have seen hard sell, soft sell and no sell. Some of the perks have been amazing. In April we're staying in Williamsburg for two nights, free. We'll be getting one free ticket to Busch Gardens, $30 certificate to Georges seafood buffet and a full breakfast for two each morning. My total comes to $200- I can spare 90 minutes for that.

Good luck! :)
