i played clarinet from 4th grade till i graduated from high school. which was a year ago. i decided not to do band in college, but i still play. also i've played the piano since i was 4. i've taught lessons in it and stuff. i love music!
I've played the piano for five years. I was in the school band in 6th and played clairenet (s/s). I didn't like band (well actually i didn't like practicing as much as we were suppose to) so i didn't go back in 7th. Also, i played recorder in 4th... but it was just for a school program, so i don't know if that counts. Neways, i luv playing piano and im goin to keep on playing!
I play guitar (all shapes and sizes, I'm learning mandolin...), which I've taught myself for the last 2 years. I had a teacher for a year, but I think it's more fun to teach myself all the techniques, and I find it real easy for some reason. My major influences would probably be Ani DiFranco, Fuel, Incubus, John Denver (remember him? laugh it uo...I'm a child of the 80s...LOL), and of course da man Carlos Santana.
I also play violin (and viola but im no 'convert'), i played in orchestra but it got so boring that i quit while i was ahead (3rd chair in my asinine youth orchestra that sucked)...I've done little stuff before for money, like $100 pit band gigs for theater productions, and I did stage band in the spring. I started teaching violin to kids ages 4-70 (no kidding, that's not a typo) last summer, and it went so well with the kids that I started my own studio (http://www.stringsnkeys.com - Under Construction), and I've been teaching there since September.
I play the clarinet in my high school marching band and soon I'll be section leader! But right now for concert season i'm playing the oboe!!! Clarinet players will always rule the world though!
