Hi all -

I'm almost 7 months pregnant. My DS is 9, so it's been a loooong time. I've just started looking at items to buy, and I feel myself falling for everything that looks cool.

Does anyone have this:

It looks like the miracle swing, but I would probably buy just about anything right now!

I'm looking for honest opinions. TIA:hippie:

I saw this in BRU yesterday. I didn't like it - it seemed to go to fast (I'm sure there are speed controls) and the in utero sounds bothered me (may be just me). The seat, while snuggly and fine for a newborn, seemed small to have a 5 mos old in or older as I think it goes up to 20-25lbs. I have this one and I love it:

I like how when they are newborn it goes side to side but as they get bigger DD liked the back and forth motion. There are 2 seat positions - one on a recline the other more sitting up. It has music and water sounds. The fish also move and the thing in the middle lights up. DD, now 17 mos, loved this swing - I was constantly changing the batteries (4 D). DS, 3 1/2 mos, also enjoys it and is now really noticing the fish moving about. I didn't really use the tray but that was bc DD liked to kick her feet and move them freely - I don't know where I put it to use for DS.

I second the fischer price aquarium swing. My youngest two loved it. The side to side motion was a nice change from the front to back motion. Come on, lets face it.....they're used to the side to side motion from us waddling around so much in the last trimester! :lmao:

The aquarium swing looks cool too! I think I'm going to have to hide my credit card in a block of ice!

Keep 'em coming-

I have last year's model of this swing:

It was wonderful....and my little girl would sleep in it for hours.
Now she's 10 mo. old and too big...so keep that in mind as well. I think she would still like to swing, but she could easlily flip out...so it's looking for a new home since it takes up a lot of room.
But again, it was a great swing for a newborn.

We had a very early version of the Fisher Price Cradle Swing... it was HEAVEN! I highly recommend it!

We have the Rainforest swing that is out right now. Looks like a more updated version of the Aquarium one to me. I love it! The best thing is that it has a power cord so it can be plugged in and not drain batteries. DD is swinging away in it right now!

Even though this was our second baby and we had everything from our first, I still got sucked into buying all of the Rainforest stuff because it is just so cool!

I got a Fisher-Price Soothing Motions Glider for our newest DS and it was a miracle-worker when we first brought him home. He slept in it all the time. Now that he's 4 months and a little more active he prefers an actual swing.

I had the fisher price rainforest cradle swing too - it was great to switch from side to side or front to back. He loved it - worked wonders for us when he was fussy and tired but wouldn't sleep in the bassinet or crib. He outgrew it at 7 months - but I have a big boy... 8 months, 23 lbs.

Thanks everyone for the responses and links. There is just so much cool stuff out there!

DS1 had colic, so if all these kinds of swings help with that (and it sounds like they do), it will be great!
