I heard you can do this and I think it would be great so we could just bring our IPOD for our little one in lieu or carrying around a bunch of dvds.

Thanks

I sometimes hook up my Ipod to the TV when I travel. As long as the TV has the three AV hook ups somewhere it should be fine. All you need is the AV cord.

Please share how you do this! I bought DH an iPod Nano for Christmas, and he's hooked! :lmao: :cool1:

He has a Nano and I have a Classic. I will look like the very cool DW if I can give him this info! :rolleyes1

Thanks!

I think I got mine at the Apple Store, but I'm sure you can get it cheaper at Best Buy ect. Here's a link to the cord you need.

All you have to do once the ipod is hooked up to the tv is select a video the play. It will then ask you if you want "tv on" or "tv off". Select "tv on" and you should be good to go.

i heard that those aftermarket brand cables were "blocked" by apple with somekind of firmware update. Anyone know of any truth to that?

You don't need a special cable. Any three prong AV cable will work. Just be sure to switch around the red and yellow prongs.

I have this portable DVD player that also has a dock for ipod. So, you can use it to listen to your ipod or watch videos. Then, the dvd player comes with a cord to hook it to a tv. So it works just like a DVD player but you can also play your ipod videos on the tv. Very handy for travel and vacations because it works on the plane/car and also at the tv wherever you're staying.

I love it and we don't have problems with it skipping. It has even fallen off the center console a few times, and if it's not too jarring, the movie doesn't skip.

We did this once while traveling. It's a great way to over come the crappy selection of cable channels hotels offer!

I would get A composite (think that is the right name for those inputs!) that's the red, white (sound) and yellow (video) plugs. I'd avoid the component (red green blue), since many hotels don't have tvs capable of utilizing them.

The apple one is nice. It charges while you watch, but the one I got from them is the Red green blue plug.
