Just wondering if anyone here has their internet service through DirecTV, I think it's called DirecWAV? It would be nice having it through the satellite and not the phone line, but last time I checked (several months ago) it was pretty expensive. So, if anyone here has it how much did you pay for the initial cost, and what is it per month, and how do you like the service? I'm getting so tired of s-l-o-w dial-up and waiting and waiting for pages to load...

I didn't even know they had internet service. I just love my Direct tv

Yes, they do. ::yes:: So I'm hoping someone here has it and can clue me in on all the specifics.

We love our DirecTV too!! :bounce: :bounce:

I just checked it out and it is expensive! And you have to have a clear view of the southern sky.

We have had DirecWay for about a year now, and absolutely hate it! However, when the sun is shining and it isn't raining, it's not all that bad!

The cost is outrageous, but here in the boonies, we don't have access to cable and fiberoptic lines are pretty much a pipe dream. I have to say, if you live in an area where the sun shines all the time, the wind never blows, and it never rains, then DirecWay may be the way for you to go!

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

I had it about 2 years ago. At the time we had 2 phone lines. The internet was installed using the extra line. I was trying to save money and decided to get rid of that line and put the internet service on the other line. When I called them they told me I had to cancel my service on the original line and then get new service on the remaining line. Of course, there was a $200 cancellation fee. I told them I didn't want to cancel the service, I was just trying to save money and get rid of one phone line. If I had to pay $200 to switch the service to the other line, how was that saving money?? I was so mad I told them to cancel the service completely and sent their modem back to them. I called my cable company and have had it with Charter since them.

Yeah, that's right, I had cable also. My husband is one of those guys who have to have all the electronic toys. He just had to have that little dish on the roof to get the same programs in the den that we got on the digital cable in all of the bedrooms!
