Does anyone have any objections to me doing this?

I can tell already that I'm going to have trouble keeping the index up to date if I don't have some kind of indication in the subject line that your meet has been added. By trouble, I mean that I will have to keep checking threads against my copy of the index to make sure that I haven't missed any.

I guess that my memory just isn't what it used to be

I want to edit the subject line and include something there so that I can scan the list of topics and know immediately what has been added.

I was thinking that I could edit and include the word indexed or added or something.

I edited the subject line regarding a meet in Boise that has already occurred, as an experiment to see how it looked.

Any suggestions? Any objections?

I think it is a good idea.

example
if I look through the index and then found one and signed up using the link in the index. Later on I go through the posts and see an announcement I would be able to tell if it was the one I already knew about. If it did not say "indexed" then I would know it was new one and to check it out.

And later on this summer if the local disney fans group I am part of has a local DIS Meet it would make it easier for others to not miss it.

That works well and will give people a chance to look at the meets in a calendar format instead of trying to look through the pages of posts.

I think it's a good idea, maybe after meets over that could be reflected in the subject too.

If there is any way that I can help you with the changes, let me know. It sounds like you are on the right track to improving the usefulness of this board.

I have PM'ed you with my suggestions about putting a datestamp in the title of each DISmeet and have made the appropriate changes to my threads to reflect my idea.

Please feel free to modify my posts as you see fit.

Hello, Katholyn.

I really appreciate the lists that you have made. Now it will be so easy to look for photos and for DIS meets.

The things that I like are:

1. You have created a main DIS meet thread for all of us to see what is going on.

2. You have created the list by calandar months and dates so that we can see who will be there at the same time whether at WDW or our local area.

3. You created links so that we can go to that individual's thread to sign up or just see the DIS meet particulars.

4. You created a separate photo DIS meet thread that we can go see links to photos of the DIS meets.

5. And you added the word, "INDEX", to the title of everyone's thread that is hosting or suggesting a DIS meet to let you know that this is the thread that has already been listed, and that you have read. With so many, many DIS meets, I can see you searching pages and pages everyday for DIS meets, and not remembering if you had read this last week or last month as times go by. But by putting the word,"INDEX", in that thread originator's title, you can tell whether that thread has already been listed in your main thread. Some threads could go back 10 or 50 pages and then reappear on page one again. This new system of yours could let you, as a Moderater, know that you have already read and included this post.

For those of you that have ever tried to do this, it could take hours of personal time to try and figure out if you have read the post before or not. Now that could get frustrating over time. So let's all help Katholyn.

And as far as other DISers giving permission, I think that everyone really appreciates that you can do this. If someone does get upset, then I would suggest just take their thread out of your main DIS meet thread.

And thank you and all the other wonderful DISers for getting me started on the WISH challenge on the WISH board. And thank you Katholyn for helping me find the magic again.
