We will be in Daytona Beach this weekend for a gymnastics competition. Does anyone have any family-friendly recommendations for restaurants in the area? We will probably go out with DD's teammates and their parents/families.
Thanks!

We love Aunt Catfish. Its a great seafood restaurant. We go there everytime were in town and the food is always great. They have a website, search for aunt catfish on the river. Hope that helps!

I am interested in this as well, we will be there on Thanksgiving for a couple of days before heading to Disney!:woohoo:

I was in Daytona a few weeks ago, and we ate here!

Was Bubba Gump's super expensive? This is right by our hotel, so we could walk. I just don't want to recommend something to the other families that's too expensive, since everyone's budget is different.

Aunt Catfish looks like it has gotten good reviews, too. We are there 2 nights, so I can try out 2 places. :)

Last week I was in Daytona for a Bridge Tournament. We cruised North up AIA and ended up at a place called Barnacles Restaurant. The address is 869 South Atlantic in Ormand Beach. They had a Lobster Lasagna which was unusual and wonderful. It is definitely not a chain restaurant. It is on the ocean side of A1A.

We were there last april and stayed at a La Quinta Inn which was right near a target shopping center. In a small strip mall in front of La Quinta there was a nice pizza place/ italian restaurant. It had the best pizza we've had since we left NY! We're over 3 hrs away or we'd be there often!

Our family favorites are:

Park's Seafood

This is not a big restaurant, but it is our favorite and we go every year.

Inlet Harbour

This is a great restaurant and marina. It is beautiful and has alot of seating (indoor and outdoor). Another family favorite complete with gift shop and it is fun to see all the boats.

We have not been the last few years, but my parents have and enjoyed it as usual.

These are some others we go to from time to time:
Caribbean Jacks http://www.caribbeanjacks.com/
Bubba Gumps http://www.bubbagump.com/locations/daytona-beach/
Barnacles http://www.barnaclesonline.com/

Hope this info helps and have a great trip!

The last time we were in Daytona we ate at Stavro's Pizza. It isn't fancy, but
they have great prices and a Greek salad that is fantastic. Also in New Smyrna there is a seafood place called BlackBeard's Inn. I had the best thing, lobster lasagna. It is one of a very few times that I have raved about food. Bello Valentino's is also a good place, but a little expensive.

We did Bubba Gump and this BBQ place along the strip. It was good. My DF LOVES the All You Can Eat KFC buffet across from the speedway.

There is a local place called Down Under (possibly actually called The Deck Down Under) with AWESOME sea food!!! Some friends of ours have a condo down there and when we went to visit them for a week they said this was the place we had to go to. We ended up eating there a couple more times it was so good!

We've been there the last 3 years and my family heads right to "Ocean Deck" for their ribs and Mahi Mahi wraps. The restaurant is open air and a lot of fun. The Rasta Chicken is also awesome, we bought some rasta sauce in the little gift shop upstairs. In the gift shop they also have some really, really neat handpainted purses. I would definitely recommend here. Also, my in-laws swear by the "Cracked Egg" for breakfast. Have a great time, renting the 4 wheelers on the beach are also a lot of fun.

Aunt Catfish is our absolute favorite! It's so much food! Each meal includes a hush puppy, sides and cinnamon roll along with a salad bar and fixins bar (beans, cole slaw, corn bread, cinnamon apples, etc!)!

Some other great ones are Barnacle's, River Grille, Caribbean Jacks. We moved here a year ago and prefer to eat at the local places and avoid chains. Haven't been disappointed yet!

Have a great time!

Does anyone happen to know which restuarants will be open on Thanksgiving for supper? We will be arriving that evening and just wanted to see what our choices would be.
