I have one but, while close, it didn't taste exactly like the kind I use to buy from the little Mall stores.

Mine is:
3/4 C Orange Juice
1/4 C Milk
1 Egg
1/4 tsp vanilla
2 ice cubes.

Put it all in a blender and process until the ice is crushed.

I ended up using a bit more OJ and boosting the vanilla up to a 1/2 tsp. That was better but still not quite right.

If you have a recipe that is better, please post it.

From one of Todd Wilbur's The Best of Top Secret Recipes:

Orange Julius

1 1/4 cup orange juice
1 cup water
3 tablespoons egg white or egg substitute
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cup ice

Combine all of the ingredients except the ice in the blender and blend on high speed for 15-20 seconds or untill the sugar is dissolved. Add the ice and blend until ice is mostly crushed yet coarse.

I'd re-think the raw egg part of your drink.

I used to make them ALL the time!!! I think this was the recipe. Do you use regular liquid orange juice or the frozen can concentrate??? Cause that would make a difference then

6 oz. can frozen concentrated orange juice
1 cup milk - low-fat okay
1 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
8 ice cubes

I don't at all remember an egg when I made it......

I'd re-think the raw egg part of your drink.

The original OJulius had a choice of egg or no egg when you bought them at one of their shops. The eggs make it thicker and foamier. Truthfully the ones without just dont taste the same.(aka..as good)
I look at it this way I have been eating cookie dough and licking the cake batter bowl for *ehemm..ehemm. X amount of years now and I aint dead yet :thumbsup2 I do advise using caution when using any recipe calling for eggs, raw or not. If they have been refrigerated properly you should not have major intestinal problems.

Since tax time is here and the other half has never tried the OJulius with egg I think I may go pick up a new blender(ours needs to be put to rest) and make him one. Thanks for the recipes.

When I was little we just put OJ and 1 tsp. of powdered egg white in a blender. Maybe just a little vanilla....I'm not sure about that part.
