Does anyone have a really good map of the Disney property?

I'd like one for driving showing the roads inside and all of the parks and resorts. We have one that we used this year but it leaves a bit to be desired. Any thoughts?

I've never thought about how good the maps are that you can find around. Once you enter the property, signs take you anywhere you want to go without any problems or questions.

I know that they have broucheres they give you when you check in and in one is a fold out map of the Disney property. Also, they have photocopied maps at the DTD Guest Relations locations.

Disney looks more confusing than it is. It has 2 main roads that bisect it North and South (that would be Buena Vista Blvd) and East and West (World Drive--- the main connection to 192). From these 2 roads you can find exits to anywhere you want to go. The road signs are actually pretty good, now, too!

That's true, unless you are trying to get to another resort. For example, if you want to go to the Wilderness Lodge, you first need to know that it is a "Magic Kingdom Area" resort. You won't see signs in the Downtown Disney area that will point you directly toward WL--you'll first need to follow the MK signs, and once you get into that region, you will see signs specifically for WL.

The same holds true for the golf courses and even water parks--you really need to have some idea of where you are going in order to find your destination.

But in terms of getting from any one resort to a theme park, you are absolutely right that it's hard to get lost with all of those signs.

This is true. I am not saying that one doesn't need the map (I wish they still had the large maps you could buy), but to make the map that is available easier to understand it is good to know that the 2 roads I mentioned will take you pretty much to anywhere you need to or want to go.

Sorry, guess I wasn't good at clarifying that!:guilty:

I want to know where Port Orleans Riverside is in relation to CBR. A friend of mine and I are planning a trip for July. She wants one hotel, I want the other.

If you belong to AAA, or know someone who does, get an Orlando area map. I swear by it. :moped:

You know, I also thought it was pretty simple to navigate around WDW. My dad drove up from Pompano Beach the day after Thanksgiving to spend some time with us. I told him we were at BWV, an Epcot area resort. He has driven to WDW many times, but mostly to POR (DxL). I even gave him the instructions from the airport to BWV. I figured that yes, he would be coming from the south vs the north but he would have a general idea. Nope...didn't happen. He ended up in the Epcot parking lot..three times!!! He said that if he saw rt. 4 one more time he was going back to Pompano Beach. Someone finally told him to head to MGM/Studios and we would be right there.

They used to give you a terrific road map at check-in but evidently they have stopped doing that. I couldn't find one in order to talk Dad in on our cell-phones.

Try this link. It tells you lots.

This is a great map! But I need to tweek it a bit. It needs to be larger (so you can read it in the car, in the dark, in the rain...Get my drift?) I think I'll work with this one and make it my own. Notice that they marked the traffic lights and everything! If I can do it and it works, I'll let you know.

No problem! CBR is located on Buena Vista Blvd. When exiting the CBR property, you will need to turn left. Get into your left hand lane, and when you come to Bonnet Creek Pkwy turn left. You will pass Old Key West on your right, Disney Vacation Club Way and shortly after that you will see the entrance to Port Orleans French Quarter on the right. The next big entrance you come to on your right will be Port Orleans Riverside. Just have your parking tag visable from CBR and they will flag you right in. If you keep going straight, you will come to the main parking lot. You may park there and the lobby is located in the building just beyond.

Have a great time!:)

We got one when we checked in at Polynesian in October. They are the bright colored red and yellow, kind of thick brouchere with all about the parks, restaurants, recreation, etc. The map is in there... it folds out. The Guest Relations at DTD also have these, as well as the xeroxed copy of it. Guess that doesn't help now, but next time you will know where to find the map.
