i was wondering what they look like. I wanted to get something for the kids to hold them on there backpacks so they don't lose them.

Are they still that cruddy "new" shaped that is tapered and doesn't fit well in the drink holder?

As far as I know this is still the one currently being sold:

If you want something to attach them to the backpacks, you could always get a carabiner clip - Most of the shops at Disney sell them.

I'm pretty sure that gets removed once you pay for the mug.

Since they are not refillable in the park they always seem to bulky to take into the park to me. We leave them in the room. JMHO.

I miss the resort ones!! I do not buy them anymore for the fact I do not drink soda and never have used them! lol

HaHa....I was posting on another thread that I was more likely to buy one now that they were tapered and not the other.....it's kinda like the coke/pepsi debate. Are the new tapered ones really top heavy? That's what I dislike about the peg shapped ones.

It's hard to explain, but they just don't fit well in our cupholders. That "notched" bottom held the cup in place. Plus, with the tapered one, the handle seems to hit at a funny angle. I think the old handles were higher. I wish they'd sell the old one or at least both syles.

ETA: The bottom of the new one is too fat for a lot of cupholders.

I guess I'll just have to look. My console actually has one big holder and one smaller holder. The large drinks you get at sonic or mcdonalds fit in them but I don't know if the handle will get in the way because mine have an open area on each side. I'm still not even sure I'll get one...lots to think about.

However can you, or anyone for that matter tell me. Do the spouts on the lids close? Like a slide cover or even a push tab. I have some coffee cups that have a cover and some that are open and I think I prefer being able to close the drinking hole. So that will be another consideration.

Yes, you can slide a tab over to close the drinking hole.
