My DD 8 wants one for Christmas, but they look too good to be true. You know that make it looks sooooooooo easy. Reminds of the old Ron-co products. :happytv:

They have a web site http://www.mybedazzler.com/ , but
Michalael's has it on sale through Saturday.

I saw them for sale at my local drug store -- Happy Harry's. I may be picking one up for a 8 year old birthday gift shortly.

I'm 14 and would love one! lol. I like designing things.

I don't have a bedazzler, but I do have a Bejewler. The difference is that the bedazzler you have to punch through the fabric, whereas the Bejewler you use hot fix stones and glue them on. This way you can do denim and heavier fabrics, as well as wood, glass, plastic.

How much do these run at Michaels? And does anyone know if they sell extra jewels.

I was thinking about getting this for my 7yo for christmas.. and than making t-shirts for the HS Musical concert :rotfl2:

Wow, those are still around? My friend had one when we were about 12. That was over 15 years ago. I was sooo jealous and wanted one. :rotfl:

That just made me think of the episode of The Apprentice where that silly girl went all over town looking for a Bedazzler to Bedazzle the t-shirts they were selling! :sad2:

They made her look so silly for doing that! Her whole team thought she was a nut case! I don't remember her name. Tana maybe?
I think they won the challenge though! :confused3

How well do they stay on with the glue? Do they fall off if you put your jeans in the dryer afterwards, or accidently iron the back of the fabric where the stone is placed?

I make & sell scarves & would love to place a few rhinestones on, but I need something lightweight & WON'T fall off later. Since there's no backing with the Bejeweler, that would take off the excess weight. But I really can't sell something that's liable to fall off after a few washings. :(

If you go to the site the OP listed, they have a web-fomercial with Tana from The Apprentice on it. I guess she found her niche since she didn't win. :p

And the BeDazzler CAN be found in NYC - in the Fabric District. I saw many before the show airred. Tana just didn't know where to look. She really didn't have to go all the way out to Staten Island for it. One was probably several blocks away from where she was at Trump Tower.

The regular price is around $20, but they were on sale a couple weeks ago for $15. Most Sundays there is a 40% off coupon for Michaels, making is about $12.

Ha! I was just going to post about Tana and her beloved Bedazzler LOL. Their outfits looked pretty trendy with the jewels on them too!

I was thinking about getting one for for my oldest. Are there refill kits somewhere?

DD7 wants one of these BAD!!!!! Every time the commercial comes on TV, she makes me drop what I'm doing to come watch. I think if she got the BeDazzler and some Moon Sand for Christmas, she'd be in 7th heaven!

Does this Moon Sand actually do what it claims? My brother might like it...

I don't know......might have to start a different thread for that! I would sure like to know because 1/2 the toys out there don't live up to their hype.

I don't have a BeDazzler, but I have a Rotato and I love it...seriously.

The reviews on the Toys R Us web site are not too good:

November 09, 2006 - Review by Sara

I expected it to hold together better. It is nothing more than colored sand and it makes a horrible mess.

November 08, 2006 - Review by Paula D

I would not recommend this! It is very messy and doesn't stay together well. The sand colors get mixed together.

Awful! As a former preschool teacher I am not afraid of a little mess, but this is ridiculous. It does not work as well as the advertisements claim. My 4 year old was very dissapointed.

It was horrible. The sand never stayed together like the ad said. You ran out of sand before building anything. I spent days looking for this product and was very disappointed with it. Save you money, don’t buy it!

November 07, 2006 - Review by Heather L

This toy is very messy. Waste of money.

November 05, 2006 - Review by Dawn C

Please do not waste your money. It is very messy and doesn't clean up easy at all! Yes the product never dries out, but it also never comes up easy! I have this all over my home, it is truly not a toy for inside play!

November 03, 2006 - Review by Aubra H

This does not work as well as advertised. My son still loves to play with it. Although the sand doesn't stay molded together as much as I thought it would. I have recommended this product to friends and family.

So easy to clean and it keeps my kids busy and quiet!

This is too messy!

I am voting this to be the Worst Toy Ever Invented for these reasons: 1. It is a parents cleaning nightmare - after 10 minutes of play you are cleaning it up for days. It gets stuck to your kids clothing and skin so that when they walk away from the original mess, it is going with them through the rest of the house - So there are now other areas to clean it from. 2. Dull - It was new and interesting for the first few minutes but then when they couldn't actually make things with it, they got bored and just decided to squish and rake it around the table.

My 4-year-old-son loves this. He plays with it for hours. It really isn't all that messy and the inflatable carrying case works great at keeping the stuff contained; both when playing and when storing. If your child loves sandboxes they will love this stuff as well.

This product is amazing!!! It really does what it says and is long lasting. My kid loves it so much and plays with it all the time! I recommend it to everyone!
