Are they very very high pressure people. Any info will be appreciated. Anyone out their who had a plesant experience there???

Thanks

ALthough I have never done one of their time shares my experience with them was not very good at all. I filled out a card for a chance to win a Disney vacation. The day after we got home we got a call from them that we coulld get 75% off a 5 nite 4 days Orland trip but we'd have to listen to their timeshare (they made it sound like I won this trip but it wasn't a free trip only if you want to consider it like second place) when I said well if I won the trip why do I have to pay for it and listen to your time share She just hung up on me HOW RUDE:mad: I friend of mine did do the sales pitch and ended up buying into it she they they are VERY hard sell and pushy everything my friend said no they came up with another finance plan to get them to buy. They always had a come back

be careful when dealing with them:smooth:

Hi,
My family has taken a Westgate timeshare tour offer. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo on our last trip to WDW. It was very nice. We stayed a whole week at a tremendous discount. Of course we had to sit through the timeshare presentation. We had no intentions of buying for financial reasons but it is a very nice property and probably would buy if the time were right. I would not buy directly from them, however, as their prices are overinflated. I would buy resale. There are people selling their timeshare property on the internet at half the price that Westgate charges. Do not be fearful of the timeshare presentation. Just be firm. To me, the discounted vacation was worth the 2 hours that we had to sit with the sales rep.

we own a timeshare already, but frequently still take advantage of these offers... did
westgate last yr when we just wanted to add 4 days to our vacation... didn't have a problem
the guy went thru his talk, and we pretty much just told him we weren't buying now, and if
we did we'd probably buy privately since the prices are so much lower... once he knew we
were aware of the overly inflated prices we got out in record time! he was actually really
nice about it... so, i guess it depends on yr ability to scam the scam artists! i think their
bread and butter are people who come who don't know anything about timeshares and
how u can work the system( for instance, we have a studio, but always get a two or three
bdrm in orlando) saw no need to pay for a bigger unit. let alone pay the higher maintenance
fee.. we like the marriott and wd try there next time.... we're going to one of their nj resorts
this year so we can drive easily and just relax... going on a two week vacationt the following
year.

I don't think its worth the pain & suffering. However it is a very nice place.

If you go I guarentee you can buy a unit at less than 50%. Heck you can buy mine.

DW, 2 DSs and 1DD stayed at Westgate lakes. Got a similar deal. HIGH pressure sales. But, it's like Gilligan. Once you attend the "3 hour tour" you are free for fun. Room we had was a 2 bed room suit. Jacuzzi in the master bedroom. Kids loved it. Full kitchen and dining room. Tacky fo (sp?) leather sofa sectional - again, kids loved it. BIG screen TV - kids loved it. Many pools, outdoor jacuzzis, a lake with pedal boats, tennis, fast food joints - kids loved it. Screened in patio - kids loved it.

Remember - just say NO to the sales pitch. Get your great rate. Request every free gift they have. Don't buy time share. Great location to WDW parks. I would do it again. But, remember, just say NO to the high pressure sales. Also, BIG breakfast and a kids computer playroom while they give the adults the sales pitch - again - kids loved it.

Have fun. Keep a positive attitude. Don't take their tactics personally. The sales people are good decent hard working people.

Bye!

Back in 1997, we went to a presentation in order to receive 2 free tickets to Sea World. We made it very clear that we had no intention on purchasing a time share. Well, a year has not gone by since then that they have not called us looking to get us back down there! You would think in 4 years, they would get the message!

We did this, but beacuse of our other plans, did not do the presentation until the last day. Therefore, we couldn't use any of the coupons they gave us (Church Street, Water Park) We had to wait for the presentation, go through two sales pitches, and wait for our freebies, which we couldn't use. We had paid $69 for a two night stay. Never will do again.

Randyro...that sectional is not faux!!! That's a real leather sofa...or so they tell me.

Actually I really enjoyed the Lakes & plan to swap over there 2003 when I do, ahem, Universal & Sea World.

We stayed there last year, it's a great resort. My family has a time share and I take advantage of it a lot and this is a very nice place. Since the timeshare is not in my name I was talked into doing the presentation ( I usually say NO but they were very sneaky, saying I had to come down to do an inventory to make sure everything was in place) what a painful experience, I waisted my whole morning had to say NO a million times, there were kids tired , screaming, it was so loud, and finally they called the manager with a once in alifetime opportunity, someone went bankrupt and I could get it for $8900, it started at $23000 ( but I also know that they all do this when you resist for awhile ) when we said NO because we use my family's why spend the money the guy got up and didn't even say goodbye

I will give you a quote from an ex Westgate sales person that I spoke with yesterday:

"Their motto is: If you don't buy from us (Westgate) we make sure you NEVER want to tour another timeshare again."

I would say that's high pressure. He also told me that they try to trick everyone who checks in into a sales presentation claiming you must come to make sure that everything in your room is okay. You don't have to do this. Just say you don't have time. I am staying at Westgate Lakes this year but they won't be on my timeshare tour list. I got a great deal without going through them. If you want to do the tour there are tons of other resorts you can tour and get free tickets. Silver Lakes is offering more than anyone else with a free breakfast or lunch, 2 tickets to universal and 1 watermania family pass. They offer other stuff too. Embassy offers free or discount tickets or $80 Disney Dollars. If anyone knows of others offering good stuff please let me know. We are going down end of January. YEAH!!:bounce:

Went to west gate presentation and bought one. We had very nice easy going guy who was as up front as I was and made it enjoyable. (if thats possible) It takes a while (we waited 30 min. ) to get from lobby to cafeteria where you eat and listen to presentation. They assign 1 person to you not like a big auditorium setting with a speaker. You are free to get food and drink from their free buffet at any time, not the best buffet in town but free!If you have no intetion of buying timeshare tell them up front your there for the savings.(room or tickets)
Hope this helps.
