We have been getting it for quite some time now - I mostly get the pizza - curly fries - their corn is the best!!!! I like their ice cream novelties too.

Haven't ordered any meat or fish yet.

Anyone else??

:flower:

I haven't ever ordered from them, but my grandmother has and loves them. Now that you mention it, I'll look into giving them a try. We're always looking for quick meal ideas. :)

I used them for 10 years... I've had almost everything they sell..I can give you an opinion on most of the items... There food is wonderful although it's not always the best value

I love most of their stuff! Absolutely great for a quick meal. Actually tonite we are having their potato encrused cod and mac 'n cheese, peas and their cheese buiscuts!!

We use to use them all the time but when my dd started school they use Marketday as a fundraiser for the school. They have a lot of the same things that Schwans has only you have to pick it up. I love the fact the school benifits from something I would buy anyway.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Actually none of it is a "best value!" But nearly everything we bought we enjoyed! We used to buy a lot from them when we lived in town. But now we don't have a Scwan's man (Bob). Ours always brought stickers for the kids. :)

We used to. The Blue Hake is wonderful!! However, we found ourselves wanting to close the drapes and dive for the floor when we heard the truck. On the rare occasions we didn't want to order something, the guy's lip would all but drag the ground as he schlepped back to his truck. Geesh! I was always as nice as could be about it. I always felt like such a meanie afterwards. :guilty:

I did for a few months and it was great. Then they got a new driver and I would get calls at 9 p.m. !! saying he would be there in 15 minutes. I was like, I don't think so, it's way too late. Then he would show up only here and there (even though he was supposed to be here every Thursday). It got to be an inconvenience. I was sort of stressing that I wouldn't be home when the Schwans guy came over. After that I decided to cancel.

Same here!! Ours showed up as late as 10 or 11 PM on a few occasions! We called the manager twice before that stopped. We also asked him to come once a month instead of twice. That usually lasted three or four months, but before long he slipped back into an every other week schedule. Ack! Forget it. Not worth the hassle. I do miss the Blue Hake though. :(

We had the same problem. :) And after our guy would drop off the order he would stand in my kitchen ans stare at me like he wanted something. Very creepy.

We do! I rarely buy the meat though. It's too darned expensive.

I like the convenience stuff. Like the beef with the rotini and carrots and peas.

Kids love the tots (I can't help but think of Napoleon Dynamite everytime I say "tots" now. :goodvibes ) and the corndogs.

DH loves the onion rings.

I do. I have for about 12 years. I don't buy the meat it is priced very high, but I can't think of anything I have bought that I didn't like. It is great for quick meals, but can be hard on your budget! I spend about 50 every 2 weeks on whatever sounds good. If money ever got tight, it would be one of the first things to go!

Same here until DH and I had an argument about who was going to answer the door and tell the Schwan's guy we don't want anything again this week. Well, the window was open (oops we forgot) and he heard the whole thing  He hasn't been back since :sad2: and I really miss those apple cinnamon french toast sticks :guilty:

OMG, same here. We loved the stuff, but just did not want something every single time. The dude would act like we were denying his parole or something. He was creepy and not so nice when we said 'no thanks'...eventually he stopped coming. I'll bet we are on the Schwann 'black list' now...

Grilled Chicken Sandwiches....Bagel Dogs...Silver Mint Bars.... *drools* I haven't had Schwan's in years...got too expensive. I'm hoping to get something from them soon though...I'm craving some of those foods I grew up with. :)

Since we are in the same neighborhood ;) I'm sure it's the same guy. He just always made us feel so guilty.

All this talk about Schwan's is really making me hungry for those french toast sticks :p

LOL, probably! I know, I really miss their stuff, I loved almost everything I ever bought. I just wish it was more of a call if you need something type of deal. Or maybe they could be like the 'ice cream man'...with a bell ringing as they drove through the neighborhood and you could run out with your checkbook if you wanted something, LOL!

They had a black cherry chocolate chip ice cream that was to-die-for! can't remember the name of it)

We buy mostly convenience foods as well. The curly fries, chicken bites, pierogies, and individual sized sausage pizzas are staples around our house. My kids love the push ups and ice cream sandwiches, too. I agree they are really expensive, but it is nice to have some things on hand for the kids to have for a quick supper.

Somethings are pricey, but I like the whole meal packs, the ones with dinner, side, and desert. Yummy. I may see if they have a lo cal selection.
