Does anyone else question their resort choice?

I seem to always do this...here we are leaving next week to stay at CSR and I am sitting here questioning my decision....last May we were booked for CSR and then I switched to AKL, this past February we were booked for the Contemporary and I switched to All Star Music simply because my deposit covered almost all the cost of the value resort....

I was thinking of switching to Pop to save $$ - to me there really is no difference in the mods/values - except you do get cute towel animals at the values!! :) I do want to try all the resorts (one day) and we have never stayed at CSR but...well I think it would only be about a $170 difference, so maybe I'll just stick with CSR.....

am I the only nutty one?

*note* this spills over to my restaurant planning as well, not so much for saving money, but wanting to try new places but still loving certain restaurants....

I constantly second guess not only my hotel choice but our PS's. I don't even want to tell you how many times I've changed them.

I'm always second-guessing my resort choice. I'm trying to stay at as many different WDW resorts as I can, but I'm often tempted to go back to my favorites. As for CSR, for $170 more, I'd definitely stay there. I've stayed at Pop and CSR and much prefer CSR. I do the same thing with restaurants as well. :)

I never second-guess any of that stuff.

I know that I wil love my stay at ANY WDW resort (I choose based almost entirely on cost, meaning that I am almost always in a Value), so I never stress over whether I've made the "right" decision.

I also rarely make PS in advance, because I tour solo and don't often need them. I can handle an hour wait for a restaurant if it gets busy, and if the waits get longer than an hour I simply eat counter service that night. If I'm there during the busy season, I make PS about 24 hours in advance. I do this because I never know what kind of food I will be in the mood for until I get hungry - I certainly don't know what I'll be hungry for 90 days in advance.

I always question it. Especially if we're traveling with other people. I know I'll be happy anywhere, but worry about the others.

I always do this. Last year I booked "Pop" and 45 days prior to departing I changed it to CSR. This year I originally booked POFQ for July. Then changed to the Swan. This change was due to pricing (got a great deal). Overall, I don't think you can go wrong...they are all nice in different ways. 51 days and counting...

I always did just that...double guessing myself, changing my resorts mulitiple times. Then, I really thought about why I was doing it. Know what I came up with?? I just love planning!! And once I make all my PS's, and book my resort, and book my air...well, what's left to do, but sit and wait. I really think I made all those changes to keep myself amused and to stay in the 'planning mode'. Not anymore tho. I just book and leave it alone.

Yes - I do that all the time. I'm sure my TA wants to crawl under her desk when she sees I've emailed her. There are just too many good choices!

ME TOO!

Put it this way--Carole at DU should be sainted for putting up with my rampant indecision!

I thought I was the only one that did that....Ha! I'm actually going through the same problem. We have a ressie for CSR for 7 nights in June. And I've been thinking about switching to Pop to save some money also. It feels good to know I'm not alone! :goodvibes

funny you should ask... i almost started a thread that said "KEEP ME AWAY FROM THE RESORT BOARDS BECAUSE I KEEP CHANGING MY MIND!" since the beginning of trip planning i have gone thru two rooms at pop to two rooms at POFQ to one room at POR to one room at CR and a few nights at RPR and AKL before and after... i need to stop the madness! LOL!

i've decided our resort for now... although needless to say, it's SUBJECT TO CHANGE! LOL!

So that's what's wrong with me. It all makes sense now. I absolutely love planning, doesn't matter what it is. (I'm sure I'm in the wrong profession) DH knows I love it and he just lets me run with it, within a price range of course. I've think I've exhausted him just by telling him about the different changes I've made. It's so funny because now we're back to our original choice, just in a studio instead of a 1 bdrm. That's ok though because every time I changed my ressie, it opened up availability for other vacationers trying to get into that resort. :cool1:

Because there is absolutely nothing left to do until our trip in June, I've started working on the next trip. Gotta decide those dates and which resort. I think I'm gonna go with the ... I guess it doesn't matter what I decide now, because I'm sure it will be changed later.

Let's see. For our trip last week, I booked it in May 2004 at All Star Movies. Then changed it to Contemporary Tower, then Pop, then Dolphin, then WL, then POFQ and finally to AKL when the ap rates came out. I think I must have the record for changing my mind on resorts. :rotfl2:
We spend a lot of time at our resort, so I always put a lot of thought into what is the best for us. Then I'll keep reading these boards and the more I learn about each resort, the more difficult the decision is! We are planning our next trip for 2007 and I'm already wondering where to stay. :confused3

I'm going through this right now. I booked POFQ for next week with an AP rate for a conference that I'm going to (yeah, sure) and now I am feeling disloyal to CSR, my favorite moderate resort (before I became a DVC member, now it's SSR). I keep trying to think about in different ways: I really want to try someting new, I like New Orleans, I like that I will be close to DTD, I can always do CSR next year. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

I was questioning the stay at ASMu, but then I remembered and was reminded that.. you're at WDW!! We are a family that is out and about all the time, so ASMu fit us this trip just like POR fit us last trip. I have changed my PS list about a dozen times already. But its WDW everything will be fine.

I'm constantly second guessing myself. Originally booked at AKL...changed to a split stay 3 days at WL and 3 days at BWI. Added an extra day to the vacation....now I feel guilty for spending so much money per night at the BWI. :guilty:

I originally booked our upcoming trip in September for CSR then thought for just a little more $ I could stay at WL. Then I thought I would love to stay at Poly but couldn't justify all that $$$ so I thought I'll split my stay between WL and Poly. Then I thought boy, it'd be nice to add the dining option well my TA told me she loves POR and w/ the dining we saved $$ by downgrading to moderate. Well now I'm thinking why POR because I originally booked CSR and I'm thinking should I dare change to CSR? :confused3

i changed mine ressie from CSR to WL b/c of a 169 a night rate i got for august. it was a 240 difference but i looked at all the other things i can do at WL plus i was never really to intersted in CSR i just wanted to stay a differnent moderate level since i stayed at CBR already and really had no interest in POR. im actually VERY relieved of my switch. you will know when you finally made the right choice. its like a 20lb weight lifted off you shoulders!!! WL cant wait. im just hoping for a free upgrade now? :cool1:
