does anyone else just stay away from threads you know will tick you off????

I like to read those threads sometimes, but I don't very often post on them.

I just read them and shake my head and go on to the next thread ;)

I will sometimes read the threads, but I will usually hit the back button before I send my reply on. Sometimes its good to get it off my chest, but I really will regret it later if I just don't hit that little back button.

May depend if a poster is getting 'sucked in', usually unknowingly, due to being new or naive, or if a poster is getting hurt/bothered.

I tend to ignore posters, not threads, for, as Rita says above, they 'have no credibility in what they post'.

All the time! But I say to myself, "It ain't worth it."

Sure I have strong opinions on some subjects, but that isn't what I come to the DIS for. So I leave it at the door.

Not really. I'll listen to just about anyone.
I'm more likely to not read something because it's too long and I my self-diagnosed ADD causes me to not have the patience to read long threads (this is why I start reading books and don't finish them).
But I do like hearing different points of view and have no problem reading something even if I don't agree with it or it ticks me off.

I usually pick and chose the posts I will even open and stay away from the rest. Life is too short to be fighting.

Yep, but sometimes I am so disgusted with myself for reading the whole ridiculous thing, that I HAVE to post what a waste of time it was!

Well, I never bother going to any thread about trying to sneak in a child for free. I hate those threads and always just skip right over them. I also skip all of the political ones because I just dislike politics. I did ask a Tiger Woods question on the Debate Board and was told by someone to take it to a Sports Board instead....ugh.

Perhaps i'll just stick to the CB.

Its funny what a new day can do for ya,isn't it???
I don't feel the need to "grab" any DISers today! I never have a problem over on the debate board,I can read all the stupid-ignorant-oozing posts and move on. I figured out the threads that
I strongly react to are pet related threads. Sometimes,I admit I have reacted to quickly and harshly(poor Roliepolieoliefan can attest to that!! We're good now!!). I say to myself when I see these threads, "Leave it". My dogs have learned to do that, why can't I????????????????

have a good one!!

I don't neccessarily stay away from threads that I know will tick me off, but I usually stay away from responding to those threads. The good old "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" philosophy. I guess I just look at the DIS as a place to escape and have fun. Life's too short to let things that in the long run probably don't even really matter bug me.

Yep....that's why I don't go to the debate board here. I actually don't mind a nice debate, but it's not why i come to the Dis. I come here for fun. So, I don't let threads bother me. It's just not worth it.

I actually gravitate towards the more edgy threads!

I tend to stay away from all the pixie dust threads. I don't feel like reading sad stories about illness, death, sick pets, etc. Its depressing, and I come to the DIS for fun.

Yes. In general, I come here for fun, not aggravation.

If I know a poster is someone that tends to "push my buttons", I'll try not to read their posts.
