ack, not even gonna try reading all of this tonight... but a couple points

. I've never understood "child" meals, there should be large, medium, small... then grown ups who peck at food could order a small, and the five year old going thru a groth spurt could get a medium
. At every buffet I've been to they make you pay a set ammount per year for kids under a certain age... but the thing about Disney's buffets is that most of them are tied in with something special... a show or seeing the characters, so you're not really paying all that money for a handfull of peas and two bites of maccaroni, you're paying for the princesses or a cowboy show!
. My dh once said my youngest was 2 instead of three and I about ripped his head off at the table... I don't think it's a great idea to lie about something the kid knows is a lie right in front of her.
. I agree it's highway robbery, but when you decide to go down the highway lined with robbers you gotta expect to pay. :goodvibes

edit... yeah a groth spurt :rotfl: +W

Dementia, good post!
Don't you start that "Good post!" business. :goodvibes :goodvibes :cloud9::goodvibes :cloud9:... :faint:

OP, I would lie about a 3yo's age in a second. And wouldn't give a hippie hoot if other people said I was bad. It's a business thing. Disney isn't my friend. It isn't personal, it's business. And people lie in business all the time. I'd bet my life on the fact that Disney lies sometimes, too.

Actually the size of the meal really isn't the issue. Children's meals are generally lose leaders for restaurants. They don't make a profit on them. They are offered to entice the grown ups into the restaurant to purchase the full price meals. Before you go into how a bowl or mac and cheese can not be a lose for a restaurant that charges $5.00 remember that the cost of the food is only a small portion of the cost of the meal. The cost of the meal has to cover the labor costs, the advertising, menu printing, utilities, building rent, etc etc etc... Disney is not getting rich on children's meal costs

If you really must know I was not researching the OP's old threads to verify the validity of her statement.
I was reading them because I wanted to understand her better. I felt if I could understand her better maybe I could see where she was coming from.
I research old threads often when I am unable to understand a person's views and sometimes I come away with a much clearer understanding of why that person feels the way they do.
I do care about others. That is just the way I am.

I tend to do that also... Actually, pretty infrequently, but sometimes when reading someone's post, I think "Wow, where's this person coming from?" or "is this a one time deal or is this person always trouble??"... etc. etc. So, sometimes I do go to a few of that person's posts to understand.... I don't see harm in that, I think that's one of the reasonswhy the ability for us to do it is there.

:rotfl2: are you for real? 10 year olds at Boma are paying $26. Do ya think they're eating the couscous and watermelon rind salad? No, they're eating out of that vat of mac&cheese/chicken fingers. If Disney weren't getting rich off kids meals, they would stop serving them.

Lie about your kid's age. I don't give a crap. Just don't sit there all silly and justify it by saying "wow he only eats a little food". You lied because you're a cheap ***. :p

I don't understand why ppl get so upset over these things. It would never be an issue for me because I would never take a child younger then five to Disney World anyway. In reality I am sure that the lil ammount of food that the kid did eat didn't break disney's food budget.

These threads make me crazy, especially the mug threads I mean really.... If the family from Michigan who goes to Disney buys a mug for $13 and uses it for two weeks, then why can't the family from New York who goes to disney two seperate times for 1 week intervals use it both times? Is disney really losing out, I mean if the two familes consume the same ammount of fountain soda, coffee, tea or whatever during their trip/trips then what the heck is the big deal????

You know something really worth getting upset about, the woman in the food store who is dressed to the nines using an access card to buy groceries and then loading them into her beemer. Now if their is anyone on the Disboards who does that then I will flame away with you all....

I am sorry but I just can't see putting all this effort into arguing over something so trivial....

Disney is absolutly making a profit on 10 year olds because they are charged as adults and Disney makes a profit on adult meals, regardless of whether the adult is 10 or 45 or 75. In my post I was speaking of child's meals which are offered at reduced prices.

I swore I was not going to look at this post again. I did. This has gotten kind of scary. Private messages are popping up with threats. This really has gotten low.You all may feel lying about an age is a big deal but the nasty comments and threats draws the line for me. Is this the way normal people respond to something they may feel is wrong? All of you can keep going with your hate and searching past post this is really bad. Like I said I'm done. Keep the fight going if you like. This post never started out bad. The people posting their comments started the hate going. Like I said, when people start sending you private messages with threats that's when you back off.

Given the track record...I am sure this is a lie as well. There is great story called, "The Boy Who Cried Wolf", you can pick it up (that means borrow and then return it), from your local public library. :thumbsup2
