We leave around lunch time Thursday for WDW and I am a nervous wreck. I literelly can't even write I'm shaking so bad. Crazy, huh......I'm tempted to take a Xanax just to calm myself down. I hate this. Am I the only idiot out there that gets this nervous before traveling? Any NON Medicated ideas on how to calm down?

I do the same thing. I am so excited whenever I have a trip coming up but as soon as it gets close, I don't want to go. I'm fine once I'm there. Sorry for you but glad for me to find out I'm not the only one who does this! I don't have any remedies for you (other than the xanax!) I know you'll have a wonderful trip.

I do. I think I just worry about something happening while we are traveling and then about when we are not home and then before you know it we are travelling again.

I hope you feel better and have a fantastic time at Walt Disney World!! Be safe! :)

Thanks! I think I'm going to try a hot bath, if that doesn't work I'm popping the Xanax. I always take one everyday while at Disney anyway so I'll just start a few days early....LOL!

Its so funny, my Dr. can give me 30 Xanax and they will last me a year unless we are going out of town. Weird. I'm also usually fine when I get there but that could be because of the Xanax kicking in.

I am a major worrier. I worry about someone getting sick and the trip being ruined, raining the whole time, etc... I like you are much better once our trip starts, but, holy cow the worry I go through to get there :) . Anyway we are leaving Friday, so hopefully all will go well!

We usually take an early flight and I worry about over sleeping, (I have never overslept for anything). I worry about the dogs. I worry that one of the DS's will have a car accident the night before, (its never happened). Once I am there, I don't worry anymore. There is nothing I can do about it anyway. ;)

I travel often for work and get really cranky prior to my trips because travelling makes me nervous..even if I love doing it.

Another nervous traveler here! I'm off to WDW next Thursday, and I'm already having trouble sleeping!

You'll be fine beth, haven't you every other time?

I only get anxious/nervous when I have to fly. :rotfl2: I have to take Lorazepam in order to get on the plane. My husband won't go to the airport with me until I have taken it and knows exactly when I haven't. Debby

Yep - why is it that one of the things I enjoy most in life - traveling - can cause me so much anxiety getting out the door.

Just think about how much fun you'll have once you are there!

Before a big trip like WDW I do. I do all the planning so I'm always worried I missed something or I will forget something or people won't like what I've planned etc. etc. Other than that I don't. I got used to it traveling back and forth to NY by myself before DH and I were married.

Do what you have to do to get to Thursday Beauty and have a great trip! :flower:

Myst

oh yeah, that's me nervous & flighty but especially the actual morning, or night of, i am practically incoherent. :scared:
Worry about oversleeping, so I can't sleep. Worried driving in traffic to airport, if our carry ons are over-sized(despite the day before calling to airline to confirm carry on measurements). I take 2 alprozalams (sp x??) to be just hyper!
I have a real problem with being in even the lightest traffic on average days but on road trips or rides to the airport... :crazy2: The only good result is we arrive sooooo early to our carrier!
I go from lite caffeined coffee to caff free. I don't eat sugar, but if I did I would regulate that. I try to keep the radio, TV off--too much distraction. I am open to suggestions. Anyone here try relaxation tapes?
Darn good thing SW gives out so many drinks coupons, that always seems to make the flight so much smoother!
;)

I'm a Xanax and a cocktail girl, myself...before I get on a plane though...not so good if I'm driving! Hahaha!

Don't worry, Beauty! We'll be down there when you are, so if you run out, just come find me. I'll bring extra! :rotfl:

I get very nervous before a trip. Last summer, I had one trip for CME the week immediately following taking my board exam out of town the preceeding Friday. I was a total wreck. Fortunately, I was able to control my anxiety enough to pack before leaving for my board exam. It really wasn't so bad, in retrospect. The board exam was in Cincinnati, and my husband and son even joined me the Saturday afterwards to go to the zoo. When I packed for the exam trip, though, I forgot to pack socks, so I had to wear the same socks that I had worn to work the day before. Well, I guess now those are my lucky socks, since I passed the board exam.

I'm a nervous wreck right before but fine once I get to my destination. I worry that I've forgotten something, the luggage will get lost, my plane will be late, they won't be able to find my ressies...you name it I worry about it. Definitely requires medication to get any rest at all.
