Does anyone else get 'bothered'?

you most definately cannot take flash photographs inside rides in disney world. you know that big eye in the twilight zone scene in TOT? that had to be removed due to some damage done by flash photographs taken by people who "didn't see a sign saying they couldn't"

your mom was in the wrong here, and it sounds like you are the ones in need of some pixie dust. you're not the only people visiting disney world and doing things that could damage the attractions (such as flash photography) is very rude and disrespectful.

In The Haunted Mansion I'm pretty sure you can, we over head the women in front of us ask the cast member working there, and she said it was fine as long as you don't use flash photography.. but even one flash won't hurt. We didn't use flash except the first time when we accidentally forgot to switch it off. And no, I've never rode TOT.. And I'm sorry if you feel that way, but it doesn't change my opinion in the man.

I don't think anyone realizes that when you use a flash it disrupts the other riders. Flash photography annoys the crap out of me. (Note: DO NOT go to DLR and ride Pirates if you don't like flash photography. Asians do not speak English and will ignore you) I can understand if it's an accident, but repeatedly flashing your camera will make me want to hurt you.

And even if the man was wrong, why antagonize him? That's just petty and childish. If he said no photos allowed, just say "I'm sorry, I didn't know". Big whoop.

I hate to say this..but....

In the haunted mansion they say "and please..no flash photography, it frightens away our ghost" or something like that.

Reservations don't always work out. I don't know, for my family they would be time consuming, always having to take into consideration how long it would take us to get there for the reservation.
We only once had a hissy over not being able to get a meal, but not at the Disney staff. We tried to eat at Beaches & Cream but they lied to us over the wait time, so by the time we decided to leave, we couldn't agree on somewhere to eat where we didn't need reservations. So we were basically yelling at each other.
Luckily someone didn't show up/canclled at O'hanas so we got in.

We don't really do sit down dinners in Disney anyways.

I get really bothered by flash photography especially on dark rides such as the Haunted Mansion. It's NOT allowed and yes it IS rude. The rides even say it's not allowed, are people incapable of listening? Sheesh.

People who whine after being told they can't stay on the ride. Hello there's an hour long que and they're all guests just like you. You're not special. Goodbye.

Other than that I just laugh at people making stupid comments xD

I remember when I was waiting in line for EE a few years ago we had this father in front of us that knew NOTHING about disney, but was trying to tell his kids everything (about disney). Once we got on the ride I was telling my dad eveything the guy said wrong, at that time I was so anoyed but now I think its so funny.:lmao:

Also, this year when I was in EPCOT we kept hearing people calling spacehip earth a golf ball. We heard this at least 20X .

Not really, mostly because they actually have everything right!

What I hate, is my friends asking me something about Disney and when I start telling them they look at me and say "Nevermind, we'll just figure it out later."

>.<
I'm trying to tell you the good rides, rides to skip, because you only have so long to be there. But they ask and then don't listen.

It makes me ROTFL when someone who doesn't know ANYTHING about Disney is acting a fool and trying to explain things to other people in their group.
I love it when I'm behind those people in line because I just listen and snicker to myself.

I DO get SOOOOOOO annoyed @ flash photography in dark rides (ie; Pirate, El Rio[/whatever it's called now?], TOT, Peter Pan etc.) I GET SO ANNOYED. I want to break their cameras. It makes me SO mad when someone take a flash photograph, especially in Peter Pan or Winnie the Pooh or any of those rides and I can see the inner workings of the ride--YOU ARE RUINING THE MAGIC FOR MEEEE.

And I also LOL when people throw fits about not getting a seat in a restaurant. Obviously not everyone knows to plan in advance, but when they throw a HUGE fit is when I go 'okay, you're an idiot.'

The whole flash camera thing happened to me at DisneyLand.
So I was on the new space mountain and I was sitting next to my mom, and you know that the entire ride is basically in the dark. So the family ahead of me who weren't speaking English spent the entire ride taking pictures of themselves. I kept asking them to stop, they didn't listen and they ruined the entire ride for me. I was so angry when I got off the ride, and turns out they do speak English, but apparently 'no flash photography' was too much to ask.

Another bad experience was my dad and I were riding TOT (my mom and brother don't really like it very much) and we're in the library room. The door opened and my dad and i got separated so I went to go stand next to him. I got some dirty looks for that, but we only go separated by one person and I kind of just walked around her when the door opened to 'keep my party together'
So we ride the ride and as usual my dad and I put our hands up on the drops. So we get off the ride and go to use the bathrooms. As we are stopping some lady with a baby stroller comes up to us and starts yelling at my dad and I. She was apparently the lady I stepped around to get back next to my dad. Then she was freaking out because we were putting our hands up on a ride. She said some really nasty things, and was yelling calling us rude and other nasty things. It was so hard for me not to yell back at this lady. We said 'have a magical day' and walked away. She stood there in awe.
I just can't believe some people, and I guess that doesn't have anything to do with people who don't know anything about Disney, but it does have to do with people who need a lesson in Disney Spirit.

WHAT! :scared1:
that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard!!
she's lucky you & your dad were deep into the Disney spirit that day!
I personally would NOT have been able to control myself is some psycho lady was yelling at me for such STUPIDITY!

it will forever always be called a golfball. the minute i hear some kid walk through epcot going "look at the giant geoshpere dad!" i will rejoice.
we just call it "baby".XDDD

lol im totally serious. one evening we were riding the monorail over from mk, and the automatic spiel about epcot comes on as we're approaching. it starts talking about the "18 story geosphere" and this guy whips around all of sudden, and declared quite loudly "an 18 story geometry what?! where are they hiding it?! behind the golfball?!?!"

haha yeah.

me and my friend were talking the other day and she really annoyed me:

friend: I'm going to Disneyland soon.
me: cool. which one?
friend: there's more than one?
me: yeah. there's 4. and 1 disneyworld
friend: oh. well I'm going to the one in florida.
me: the one in florida is disneyworld, not land, by the way.
friend: no.. i'm pretty sure it's land.
me: um.. nope it's not.
friend: you sure? i think your wrong.
me: trust me.. it's world

haha i felt like googling it and showing her in the middle of class :P

I had something like that happen to me a few years ago too. My family was in line for POTC (it was the summer after they had opened it with Jack and the other movie stuff added, so the line was pretty long) when out of no where this guy just came up to us and was all "You know, it's not cool to cut in front of people. My family has been waiting a long time to get on this ride." The thing was though, we hadn't cut in front of them. We had seriously been standing behind the exact same people the whole time.

He was being EXTREMELY rude. And threw a HUGE hissy fit in front of everybody, constantly insisting that my family had 'cut' in front of his. It was SO ridiculous. The guy had to of been in his 30's and he was acting like an elementary kid being all "MISS CANDY!!!! HE CUT IN FRONT OF ME! NO!!!!!!!!!!!" :sad2:

We let them in front of us just to shut them up, but my goodness I was SO mad. It wasn't even funny.

I can agree, but for some of us, we should feel fortunate that we have been down there many many times, and we know what they are.
That's the way I put it in perspective. It can get annoying though. I'm proud that I know practically everything about Disney (not everything). Just let people laugh at themselves when they said the wrong thing (: lol. ;)

I have to say I am guilty of calling Spaceship earth a golfball, but mostly jokingly, i obviously know what it is...

i think the thing that bugs me the most about "disney ignorance" is when people call animal kingdom a zoo. like i was on one of the disney buses going to...uh epcot maybe i don't remember and this family was trying to decide where to go and they were like "well what about animal kingdom?" then the wife was like "that's just like a giant zoo, we have one of those at home"

i didn't say anything but i really wanted to...cause its SO not a zoo. :sad2:
