Does anyone else get 'bothered'?

lol im totally serious. one evening we were riding the monorail over from mk, and the automatic spiel about epcot comes on as we're approaching. it starts talking about the "18 story geosphere" and this guy whips around all of sudden, and declared quite loudly "an 18 story geometry what?! where are they hiding it?! behind the golfball?!?!"

Haha that's hilarious!!!

I have to say I am guilty of calling Spaceship earth a golfball, but mostly jokingly, i obviously know what it is...

i think the thing that bugs me the most about "disney ignorance" is when people call animal kingdom a zoo. like i was on one of the disney buses going to...uh epcot maybe i don't remember and this family was trying to decide where to go and they were like "well what about animal kingdom?" then the wife was like "that's just like a giant zoo, we have one of those at home"

i didn't say anything but i really wanted to...cause its SO not a zoo. :sad2:

That reminds me of the commercial they play in the rooms with Stacy! The ones where they kept saying "It's Nahtazu!"

WHAT! :scared1:
that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard!!
she's lucky you & your dad were deep into the Disney spirit that day!
I personally would NOT have been able to control myself is some psycho lady was yelling at me for such STUPIDITY!

I was so angry and I had a really hard time keeping quiet. She did this is front of her husband and her small children. What an example to set. We did nothing wrong. Even just talking about it makes me mad!

I had something like that happen to me a few years ago too. My family was in line for POTC (it was the summer after they had opened it with Jack and the other movie stuff added, so the line was pretty long) when out of no where this guy just came up to us and was all "You know, it's not cool to cut in front of people. My family has been waiting a long time to get on this ride." The thing was though, we hadn't cut in front of them. We had seriously been standing behind the exact same people the whole time.

He was being EXTREMELY rude. And threw a HUGE hissy fit in front of everybody, constantly insisting that my family had 'cut' in front of his. It was SO ridiculous. The guy had to of been in his 30's and he was acting like an elementary kid being all "MISS CANDY!!!! HE CUT IN FRONT OF ME! NO!!!!!!!!!!!" :sad2:

We let them in front of us just to shut them up, but my goodness I was SO mad. It wasn't even funny.

It's so annoying and really bothers me! I'm sorry you had a bad experience. It's Disney...where's the Disney spirit in these people!

But this just still really annoys me because its not a golfball. I'm sure WDW would have made it more obvious if they wanted it to be a golf ball.

My family calls is spaceship earth or the EPCOT ball

i am guilty of calling Spaceship earth "the golf ball" or "the epcot ball"
but thats because i used to call it that all the time. xD

That's soo funny! I would have literally been on the floor laughing.

But, anyways, I've never really had trouble with people being rude at the World. Those stories are just horrific, that people act like that...
It depends for me how bad their knowledge of Disney is. I really really hate it when people pretend they know everything about Disney though. I know someone like that (but he thinks he knows everything Its so annoying...
I know this lady who works at my church, and we call her Miss Disney. She has all this Disney stuff in her office and has been to WDW many times. Well, my mom (also a Disney freak) will go up to her before she is going on a trip and be like "So, are you going to watch SpectroMagic?" "What's that?" and she questions alot of other stuff too and apparently she doesn't know what it is or just doesn't go watch it... I think that's crazy.
One time before my trip (my dad had just sent an email to all my teachers) and my English teacher yells out "Emma! You're going to Disneyland!??" Everyone stares at me, and it took so much effort just to say yes instead of correct her and say Disney World

I also think they should have a Disney Ed class!

The whole flash camera thing happened to me at DisneyLand.
So I was on the new space mountain and I was sitting next to my mom, and you know that the entire ride is basically in the dark. So the family ahead of me who weren't speaking English spent the entire ride taking pictures of themselves. I kept asking them to stop, they didn't listen and they ruined the entire ride for me. I was so angry when I got off the ride, and turns out they do speak English, but apparently 'no flash photography' was too much to ask.

Another bad experience was my dad and I were riding TOT (my mom and brother don't really like it very much) and we're in the library room. The door opened and my dad and i got separated so I went to go stand next to him. I got some dirty looks for that, but we only go separated by one person and I kind of just walked around her when the door opened to 'keep my party together'
So we ride the ride and as usual my dad and I put our hands up on the drops. So we get off the ride and go to use the bathrooms. As we are stopping some lady with a baby stroller comes up to us and starts yelling at my dad and I. She was apparently the lady I stepped around to get back next to my dad. Then she was freaking out because we were putting our hands up on a ride. She said some really nasty things, and was yelling calling us rude and other nasty things. It was so hard for me not to yell back at this lady. We said 'have a magical day' and walked away. She stood there in awe.
I just can't believe some people, and I guess that doesn't have anything to do with people who don't know anything about Disney, but it does have to do with people who need a lesson in Disney Spirit.

If that lady came up to me like that I would have promptly called her what she is (a *****) and walked off. What a PSYCHO!

Reminds me of the time at the grocery store I was waiting in line in the self checkout things and I told the lady in front of me there was one available and she FLIPPED out and said she saw it blah blah blah. The whole time she was crabbing about it...WTH! I just said to my mom "she's a *****" and psycho goes "WHAT DID YOU SAY" and I told her what I called her and she left. In the parking lot she started driving her car and honking at us. I thought she was gonna run us down!

Some people clearly belong in the psych ward.

it will forever always be called a golfball. the minute i hear some kid walk through epcot going "look at the giant geoshpere dad!" i will rejoice.
we just call it "baby".XDDD

I work at an amusement park near me in the summer. This amusement park used to be owned by Paramount, along with others. Several of them had replicas of the Eiffel Tower, like 1/3 scale or something. Well I was working the turnstiles one day and this guy goes "it's the eiffel tower ride!" (you can take an elevator to the top) and the girl with him goes "NO! You are WRONG. It's a water tower." The guy asked me if that was a water tower and I said no it's an the eiffel tower.

People are soo stupid. Does this honestly look like a water tower to you?
PKI1.jpg

Even if it did and you *knew* that the eiffel tower was a ride why would you think they would have a water tower right in the front area of the park?! The eiffel tower there is kind of like the castle at Disney...things branch out from there.

I've encountered the dumbest people EVER at that amusement park. E V E R.

I am (sadly) guilty of the flash photography on pirates. It was an accident, I swear ! :guilty:
I thought the flash was off, I dropped the camera and WHAM. a huge flash explosion in our boat. It hurt my eyes ..

To me, it's a zoo. I call it a zoo all the time to my friends. AK bores me to tears once the rides are done with. Flame me, but I don't like wild animals, zoos, or anything that involves to two.

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't like AK.
- Too many animals.
- No place good to eat.
But, it's called Animal Kingdom for a reason.
