Does anyone else find Delta seats as uncomfortable?

I recently did a cross-country trip on Delta with a return on United.
Delta seats were definitely not as good as United.
My bottom hurt on Delta, I ended up using my neck pillow as a seat cushion.

Now Frontier seats, don't get me started on those.

I've found it's entirely dependent on plane type. I was on a Delta Airbus A321 that was very nice, then a Boeing 757 that wasn't. Generally older planes have better cushioning within types. A 20 year old 737 is going to have more comfortable seats than a brand new one.

Airlines have options when the configure the interior of the plane. Space saving, ergonomic, seats are popular. Reducing the padding allows the airline to have more rows of seats keeping the same amount of legroom.
The say most people find the seats comfortable means approximately 49% don't. Too many people find it comfortable means too much padding.
Airlines retrofit older aircraft with these new features.

Frontier is an "innovator".

Years ago I bought a travel cushion. It makes the seats a lot less uncomfortable. It folds

I was on a relatively newer 737 800.
Newer planes are being designed to have less seat space and padding, yes. As a PP indicated, this is more about plane type than airline. All of the airlines seem to be leaning toward less comfortable seats on their newer planes.
