Often when I have trouble getting threads to load (which seems to be fairly often lately for me  - stupid computer!!!), I hit the Reply to Topic button and read the thread from the back. At least the last 15 posts of it. For some reason, I can get the Reply to Topic Page to load easier - maybe the lack of siggies?

So, am I the only one who does this?

:)

Yes... especially if there are many replies... it's just quicker that way sometimes :teeth:

I never thought of doing that...huh! I'll have to try that

Have not done that way, Beth, LOL. Sounds good though as the boards have been pretty tough since spring. One 'trick' in posting, after you hit submit, if you wait for the post to cycle you could go make a cup of coffee. You can click on either of the hyperlinks of the post above the edit/composition box, the thread title or the board title. You'll move much faster as the thread 'takes' immediately but hangs up in the server. Always make sure to copy your posts to your notepad first, as so many times the post just bombs out or you are logged out or the board is dead. Helps you not lose them.

The reason that works faster is because you don't have to wait for all the clipart and signatures to load, go into the user control panel, turn that stuff off and you will speed up considerably.

I usually have two windows going at the same time-- that way while one loads or is waiting for a reply to register I can be reading a different thread.

Yes I discovered that too.
