I've been doing My Points for years, but I'm kind of getting sick of all the junk email I get. I'm sure it's from My Points - clicking on the emails. I've also started wondering if it's safe. I've just gotten a new computer and trying to keep things safe. I don't buy things through My Points, I mostly just click on the emails.
Any thoughts on this?

I have had no prob with my points:thumbsup2 . I did Sunshine Rewards and my cc was stolen and my computer became worthless.. Then I had to buy a new one :surfweb:

I do MyPoints. Everyone of those emails is worth 5 points. All you have to do is click the links. I get 3-4 a day so that is over 100 points a month just from that. Then whenever I order anything online I click through MyPoints. That is where you earn a lot of points. I started using MyPoints about 7 years ago. I haven't had any problems with it. I enjoy earning free stuff!

I have a special Yahoo address that I use for MyPoints. That way, all the junk mail goes there-- and I get a TON of it. I'm like you--mostly click the e-mails and I do some surveys for points. I've gotten a couple of $10 Wal Mart Gift cards and I just ordered a CVS one.

I do MyPoints as well...seems pretty harmless and easy for earning points. I have bought stuff through them - you don't actually buy from them, but rather directly from the store. The store then reports back to MyPoints. Just make sure you click through MyPoints to get to the vendor!
I agree about Sunshine Rewards - it is ridiculous! I had created a new gmail account for it, and I only check it occasionally because I have all but given up on it!

I'm another one that loves MyPoints. I have a junk mail account that originally all my mypoints emails were going too. I've given that address out everywhere, so it gets tons of junk mail. Recently, I moved my MyPoints account to my main email because I got tired of having to check my junk mail account all of the time. I get no junk mail at all in there, so I personally don't have any problems with junk mail and MyPoints.

I'm also another one that did not care for Sunshine Rewards. Stuff never credited correctly, and when it did, it took forever. The last two things I emailed them about, they didn't even bother to answer, so I just closed the account.

I've had a new computer for 2 years and no problems with ANY junk mail/viruses/spyware from My Points. I use my main email account for that site, so every click-through email that I am sent, plus shopping and bonus offers, and very rarely get any junk email. I've been a MyPoints member for years and have never gotten a lot of junk emails as a result of their site.

I have separate email accounts that I use for SR & QR and get TONS of junk emails/spam (100-200 per day):scared1: .

I have been doing Mypoints for about 7 years or longer also. Never had a problem. I use to use my work computer for it, also never a problem.

I have a separate email account that I use for this kind of stuff, also when I sign up for freebies I use my other email account.

The easy way to solve that problem is to have one account for stuff like mypoints & freebies & another that you use for important stuff like work, keeping in touch with friends, teachers & coaches.

I love, love, love Mypoints. Right now, we've got a balance of 20,000 points that we're going to redeem to get gift certificates for the kids. It's very easy to rack up points by clicking on those annoying e-mails, and I always check to see if I can get points when shopping on-line.

My husband's e-mail address is the one we used when we signed up, and he set up a filter so all the Mypoints mail goes to a separate folder on his e-mail. Then, while watching TV, we can mindlessly click on the e-mails and get the points.

Wow 20,000 points - That is pretty impressive. I am also a memeber of mypoints and I love it - very easy and so far I think very safe!

I love mypoints. I've been a member for about 7 yrs as well. I've never had any issues with their emails, I do get junk but that's from other places not mypoints. The email I use for MP is only for MP and I don't get junk there at all. I've got almost 20,000 pts to redeem myself, we like to get GC for RFC so we can eat there free when we go to DL. :)

I love MyPoints too! I have 123,616 points....what will I do with them???

BTW, I have used them for gas cards, Macy's cards, etc. They are the best!!

I've been doing mypoints for years...and besides the lovely email for points, I haven't gotten any junk mail from them. I only do the clicks with mypoints though, and don't shop or do offers with them.

I'm not sure what all the Sunshine rewards hate comments are all about since the original poster said nothing about sunshine rewards, but I feel I need to give another perspective on that.

I have one address I use for sunshine rewards and other email I use for doing offers on sunshine rewards... the only email address that gets junk email is the one I use for offers...Sunshine rewards site itself doesn't send me spam, but the offers I do through sunshine rewards do... so that is why I use two separate addresses...one for the rewards program itself and one for offers I do through the rewards program. I have a third email for family and friends...and I don't use it for anything else but close family and friends.

With hotmail, yahoo, google and other various free email address sites, it is easy to make sure your important email doesn't get lost in spam.

I've also never had a problem with any of the good click sites "breaking" my computer...It is important to have some kind of spyware / virus checking program on your computer...and to also update the operating system and apply patches to keep your computer safe no matter what you are doing on the internet.

I do it and I love it :) I got a $50 Marriott giftcard with all of my points and used it towards our last offsite trip :)

Have used mypoints for years. I just "cashed" in my points for a $100 gift card to Staples, and bought a Sony CyberShot camera for next week's trip to the World for $9(after $100 card)!

Worth it for very little time it takes to click through and online shopping.

I like My Points also. I rarely qualify for a survey, but the 5 & 10 points do add up. I have gotten two gift cards recently for Cracker Barrel. We will use them on our trip.

Honestly, I am not too torn up if I don't qualify for a survey. In fact, I prefer it. Sometimes those surveys take a long time. Really not worth the 60 or so points they offer. But, I will gladly take the 10 points for not qualifying. That only takes a couple minutes and those points rack up nicely.

Excellant point. You know, this is really how I feel also. Just can't figure out how some people always seem to qualify and others don't. But you are right, some surveys seem to take an extrodinary amount of time.

I literally just signed up for MyPoints! :goodvibes I'm a little overwelhmed as to how to sign up for these emails and surveys! Anybody care to help me?
