Does anyone avoid HDDR due to logistics ?

Isn't it the longest running dinner show in the US? It's not like they are missing customers.
It's actually very easy to get to from MK, and although I was thinking the return to our resort would suck, they had buses waiting for us that were set up to take any guest back to their resort. I like HDDR for an MK + Early to bed day. Way too much fried chicken and cornbread, a few yunglings, and way too much strawberry shortcake = early snoring = easy rope drop.

I have never been so stuffed after a meal as I am from Hoop de Doo. I don’t know what happens to me there but I can’t stop eating! lol. We always go back to resort and bed after this meal.

How long would you allow to get to HDDR from AK? I like the boat from MK idea...would that be faster than getting a bus outside of AK?

Hi all ! Just curious - we are disney vets but have never done HDDR - traveling with my DD12 and DS8 - remember going to Trails end a few years back and loved it but was a bit of a pain getting there -

Thinking of HDDR for our July trip but only thing stopping me from booking is the travel - staying at POP - won't be a park day for us- so I guess would head there from MK ?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated ! TIA !

Not much of an inconvenience at all - just take the bus to MK, then immediately get on the larger boat to FW. It's a very pleasant 5-10 min. ride over.

Not sure about time wise, as you would need to take an internal bus to Settlement area (Hoop-dee-do) after reaching the Outpost of FW - any bus will take you there. As for all areas, I would allow 1 1/2 hrs. It would be very nice to walk around FW if you happen to be a little early.

The boat ride is very nice, so I would opt to go to MK and ride boat from there.

Not us. We always have a car so we drive and take the internal Fort Wilderness bus. It has never seemed like a hassle.

boat would be longer time wise if going from AK to MK to the boat. boat is about 20 minutes and if you just miss you will have that wait for next boat plus the ride over. bus from AK and take any of the 3 internal bus as all end up at bus port. it is a little longer walk but not that much I mean like a minute or 2 but you are walking from a different direction than the boat

I'd still leave 90 minutes before show time. AK or AKL? From AK you'd need to get to a resort, I'd suggest Contemporary or WL where you can get a direct boat to FW. AKV would be a bus to MK then a boat to FW.

Also, they are usually direct buses back to your resort right after the show, but they only stick around for 10 to 15 minutes. I know that is more about getting back than getting there, but just a heads up.

It depends on to and from where, but from Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani) was about $25 for the accessible van. If you don't need the accessible van you can use Lyft codes to reduce the cost. And Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the farthest points from HDDR.
