I've heard a lot of complaints- but wondering if anybody actually enjoys it? We are on the DDP for 3 days and staying at BLT so grabbed this brunch ressie...two adults two teen boys. Haven't been here in years!

I had low expectations so I thought it was fine. I would consider doing it again if one of the kids asked.

However with teenagers I would go to California Grill or the Wave over Chef Mickey’s.

First went in 1997 when our son was 1 and he still insists on going today at the age of 23. A must-do for us.

Food is just meh and not worth what it costs but IMO it’s worth it if you have young kids who have to meet Mickey & gang because you can meet them all there in one shot and not have to wait in line or use FPs to meet them in the parks 👍🏻

The food is just ok, but overall I still like it and am returning with the little on this trip, mostly because we are staying at the Contemporary.

I like CM. It is one restaurant that makes me happy, gets my family in the Disney spirit and gives us all a chance to meet the Main Mouse.
Is it a gourmet meal? No, but I never had any experience there that makes me understand why it is so detested here on the DIS> It is a buffet. I go in knowing it is a buffet and set my expectations to that point.

I had dinner at Cape May and left feeling it was a mediocre meal for an inflated price. The Chef was amazing though, making food for my DGD who could not have much on his buffet, and then finding her dessert treats that were safe for her even though we never asked for any preferential treatment.

My point is that buffets are what they are. Some are better than others and some offer foods that appeal to some people over others.

We only go to buffets at breakfast. Nothing wrong with it. The characters are great! Only reason I prefer others to CM is they do not have made to order omelets. But, there is nothing I would "complain" about there.

Only 2 I would complain about on a message board (not even bad enough to complain in person) is Tony's and Trails End dinner. Food, IMO, is gross at both. Keywords...IMO, thus no complaints in person!

We have done CM twice, I enjoy the variety there.
On both times we all enjoyed the experience & seeing the Monorail passing over head is quite unique.
My Sisters Kids loved the Character interaction.

We do! Whether eating breakfast or dinner we try to get the earliest reservation available. We skip the long line to have our photo taken with the plastic Mickey and are usually some of the first people at the buffet. The food has always been hot, fresh, and delicious. There's enough variety to keep my husband and I happy, but also enough "boring" things for our kids who are picky eaters. The characters here are always so great too! Most times they've been to our table at least twice, and we don't stick around very long for meals because our youngest just can't handle sitting for a long time. It's loud in there, and what I would consider "high energy" at times. Lots of kids and families, and not anything I'd consider exceptional on the buffet. If you're expecting a relaxing quiet meal with unique offerings, this isn't it.

We’ve eaten an early dinner there every trip. The first four times we were happy. Good food, great character interaction. Nice and relaxing.
It’s only the last trip that put me off, and that was due to service and seating (the first 4 trips they put us at a 6 top, and last trip they tried to seat us 4 adults and one child at a 4 top with an extra chair pulled up. It was too tight- could barely get in the chairs- and I asked to be moved. They acted like I’d made a ridiculously difficult request but eventually moved us to a slightly larger 4 top in a corner. The placement made character pictures extremely difficult, and I was just unhappy the whole time.)
I do have an adr for our next trip for 12 people so I know we’ll be seated differently, but I may cancel it for Hollywood and Vine.

We had brunch there in September. It was just ok. We were a bit tired and cranky from an early flight, so that may have affected my opinion. Service was great, characters were great. We had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to be seated. I would not do it again, but I am glad we did it the one time. It was my daughter's birthday and her only request.

It's fine. It gets a bad rap, but most of the time it is no different that a lot of the other Disney buffets. The characters are fun there and it is a great opportunity to see the Fab Five at one time.

this have been our departure day breakfast we then walk over to MK for one last turn on our favorites before heading home. Is it gourmet? No? is it typical breakfast? yes and the characters are great
