Does anybody know what's going on Nov 14th - 17th?

We will be going to Disneyland this November and using our DVC points for our stay. We had planned on going from the 10th - 15th. I called DVC today and found that the only rooms available at any of the hotels on points is a standard view at DLH. The CM said that it looks as if all 3 hotels are sold out from the 14th through the 17th. She could not figure out why. I figured if anybody would know, a DISer would.

We have a lot more choices if we stay the 8th - 13th. I don't know if it's better to deal with the Veteran's Day crowds or to stay at the resort when it's booked solid.

Any opinions or advice would be appreciated.

I did a quick search and learned that the American Academy of Ophthalmology will be having their annual convention at the Anaheim Convention Center November 15-18, 2003 with expected attendance of 23,000. That could tie up a few hotel rooms in the area!

Thanks, Brenner965. After reading your post, I checked out the group's web site. It shows that all three Disney hotels, along with many others, will be used for the convention. That must be it.

I figured something must be going on, as well, Carrie. I was considering a trip to Disneyland around the same time. When I looked up the Disney hotels on Expedia, all three said "Cannot be booked for less than 10 nights"! I guess I'll try another weekend!

I also checked on Expedia and was surprised by the 10 night minimum stay. I figured something was going on but had no clue what it was. I knew somebody on this board would have the answer.

We've decided to move our trip up to the first week of November to avoid all those crazy opthamologists.
