Does anybody know about Wonders of Life?

I know it's only open "seasonally" but does anybody know for sure that it will/will not be open this summer? We'd love to do Cranium Command, Making of Me, Body Wars, but always miss them as we go "off season." Now, I'm hearing that they may not be reopening at all?

I wanted to experience it, too but from what I have read, it is officially closed. If anyone knows different, let us know.

All I can offer is that if you like the "Body Wars" ride, "Star Tours" in MGM is based on the same type of ride mechanism, and from what I understand, the Star Tours visuals are synchronized with the motion a lot better they on Body Wars, which cuts down on the likelihood of motion sickness.

So, if it's permanently closed, has anyone heard plans for the pavillion? Doesn't seem logical for Disney to just let it sit. :confused3

It's all about $$$$$! There needs to be a new corporate sponsor before it opens in any new or old incarnation.

A Disney VP is on the phone with the folks from Dramamine as we speak.

GOOD one!

:rotfl2:

Yes, Body Wars always induced much more motion sickness in guests than its virtual "twin" Star Tours.

However, the rumor is...
Body Wars is not even IN THE BUILDING (Wonders of Life) anymore.
They supposedly dismantled it and shipped it to the new Hong Kong Disneyland for use in a "Star Tours" (or similar) attraction there.

This is particularly borne out in that at the bottom of the official WDW website Parks Calendar, on the Epcot page, Cranium Command and Making of Me are specifically LISTED as "Open Seasonally" (followed by dates) but Body Wars is not even mentioned.
BYW, "Open Seasonally" means NOT OPEN NOW (during the dates listed) and those dates are listed for every single day for the next six months.

So it doesn't look "good" for us to be able to see (maybe EVER) the Wonders of Life attractions.

(Wish it were otherwise.)

 Thanx for that little bit of info, Robo! I actually though "open seasonally" meant it would be OPEN those dates. But then it's always closed, so I kept wondering "What season?" LOL :rolleyes1
Anyway, I guess we won't be planning on it any time soon...too bad.

So glad this thread was here, I have been wondering what the situation with this pavillion was. And I too thought that open seasonally followed by that particulart days date meant that it was open.

It helps to look at it this way.

Disney does not list "OPEN" attractions at the bottom of the calendar page,
(that would be a pretty long list)
they only list the attractions that are NOT open.

When I checked park opennings and rehabs on official WDW website last week for June, "Making of Me" and "Cranium Command" were listed as open during that month. Not whole pavillion, only those films. I'm confused because I thought Wonders of Life entire pavillion was closed permanently, but maybe those two movies are still available during summer season?

Linda,

Here is what is says on the WDW website for the calendar listing for Epcot June 2006:

Cranium Command: Open Seasonally [June 1, 2006 to June 30, 2006]
The Making of Me: Open Seasonally [June 1, 2006 to June 30, 2006]

As Robo explained above, that means it is closed. The wording is confusing, but it is closed.
