Hi all. I have two girls my oldest dd8 has the American girl doll and my youngest dd4 has the bitty baby. But she now wants the twins. She will be 5 in 6 months and I am wondering if I should just buy her the big doll instead? Any thoughts? Both girls play with their dolls everyday. An input would be helpful.thanks!

I would get her whichever she wants. My DD played with the baby dolls (bitty baby and later on she got twins when they came out) and the bigger dolls for equally as long.

DD - soon to be 9 has had a Bitty Baby for several years and the bitty twins for about 2 years now. She absolutely loves them and still plays with them on a regular basis as well as tucking them into their bed at night (bitty sleeps with her). I think for her 9th bday we are going to be taking her to American Girl in NY and let her get a full size American Girl doll.

My daughter prefers the baby dolls to the bigger dolls. If that is what your daughter wants, she might be disappointed to receive something else.

My DD has the baby and just got the twins for Christmas. She will be 5 next month and she really loves them. I say go for it!

We have the blond and the brunette bitty twins-Grandma LOVED when DD was at that stage :lmao:. DD also has several big dolls as well. she played with them equally I would say. I agree that if your DD wants the twins, get her the twins. I think they would be easier to manage for a 5 year old as well. Plus then you can get the beds and strollers and matching outfits and everything else that goes with them.

DD asked for the twins for her 7th birthday, Christmas that year, her 8th birthday and Christmas this year. DH kept saying no, she already has 3 regular sized dolls and he didn't think she'd play with them. So she convinced him that if she saved up enough money, she could buy them herself. Well she did, and plays with them all the time. I say get her the one(s) she really wants.

Ok, I was curious, and this is totally not what I was expecting this thread to be about! :rotfl2:

My girls bought Bitty twins a few years ago with their own money and shared the twins. You can mix and match them in any combo. You can get two girls, one with brown hair and one with blonde (for example). My girls both wanted boy dolls, since they already had American girl dolls and regular Bitty babies. So they got one with light skin and one with dark skin. They are super cute! Plus they're cheaper than buying two regular Bitty Babies, for some reason.

My girls are 12 and 10 and they still pull their dolls out occasionally to play with them. I love that!! :lovestruc

I wish they had that option when we got ours. When they first came out they only had the boy/girl blond twins-so that is what you got. DD wanted them because she is a twin. When the brunette twins came out she wanted those because she is brunette and DS is blond :lmao:. If we had that option we would have done the mixing.
