Pretty normal I'd say. My mom would always clean before we took a trip, she said she didn't want to come home to housework. I don't clean quite as much as my mom did before a trip, but the place is picked up and more or less neat before we hit the road.

Absolutely. I'm FAR from a neat freak but I like a clean house after a vacation, makes it less stressful.
