I know this may sound wierd but did anyone have any kind of irrational fears before their wedding day?

Hi I am getting married in less than 9 months and it just dawned on me what would happen if I spilt something on my dress after the wedding and I have MK photos the next morning. Or what would I do if my DF's little sister - also a BM-shows up in a dress that is different than the ones I have decided on- she did that for DF's older sister's wedding. What if someone were to object to the marriage- not that I don't think anyone would.

Did anyone have these fears or other fears? I feel like I'm going crazy thinking about these things but am trying to prepare myself if anything bad were to happen on my wedding day so it can't suprise me or ruin my wedding day.

I think its only natural to ahev fears before your wedding. You spend soooooo much time and effort planning this event that is just necessary to be worried. That being said - don't worry yourself too much. Your day will be great no matter what and realize that it will not be completely perfect. what I mean is things might not be exactly tha way you wanted them - flowers, transportation times, but nothign major. it will be amazing.
Fears are natural and dreams as well. I have had many dreams where teh most ridiculous thigns happened on my wedding day.

Thanks for the reassurance- I'm sure it will all work out ok, I guess I just get too nervous and want things to go perfect.

I'm exactly the same way. Keep having thoughts about me spilling something on my dress, it pouring down rain and having our MK shoot cancelled, the officiant forgetting to come, loosing the marriage license, having a huge zit, falling on the ground, my elderly grandpa falling, everyone getting lost and not making it to the wedding....you name it

I pray to the good Lord that none of these things happen

This is just the begining of the rest of your life.Go with the flow because you can't do anything about some things.

Control the controlables and delagate the rest

I've had dreams that I'm getting dressed in the morning and can't fit into my wedding dress :sad2: I worry about tripping while walking down the stairs down the bridge at the Italy isola, those stairs look treacherous. I don't really care about the little things. If my flowers aren't how I pictured them or if the DJ plays a wrong song here or there, that's fine. As long as everyone's having a good time, it should be fine.

I agree that fears are natural. I'd suggest putting as much effort and time on the event as you like, and then if something happens just laugh about it and make it a good story to tell your children.

Oh my goodness! Part of my reception is outdoors and my biggest fear is it being rained out or it being too cold! This location is so important to me and I dont know what I would do! :confused3 Im just trying not to think about it, as it's not the "rainy" season or typically freezing. I am trying to enjoy the planning stages and not trying to dwell on these things! :)

Jess!

I think you've just planned so much that now you are planning for the possibly bad situations so that you are prepared and know how to react to them. This is perfectly normal, but don't let it ruin your day. You don't want to be looking over your shoulder for bad things and miss the great day that you've planned, because you'll end up regretting it. Just know that this happens in one way or another to every bride.

Thanks girls- I feel a bit better now. At least I would be able to laugh about them and true could tell stories to my children. I can't really change what people are going to do or say-so there is really no reason for me to worry that much about it. Like you said, all I can really do is laugh it off. What a great way to handle it.

I think the fears are natural. Just do everything to can to plan the day the way you want. When your wedding day does come, its entirely possible that something will go wrong that might make the day 'not perfect'. But, its your wedding day - its about you and your new DH and the life you are going to build together. I promise you that you'll be so happy and excited that on the day of you'll barely notice the things that don't go perfectly - they won't seem nearly as important as they do when you are planning.
